Untitled[change source]

This article is important. It represents the first sustained contact of the Mayflower Pilgrims with Native Americans. Without Samoset, the European population in Plymouth Colony may very well not survived. For that reason alone, it is notable.

I have greatly simlified the language and will continue to do so until it meets the requirements of Simple Wikipedia. I intend to expand and/or improve it, and I believe that his article will now be considered acceptable.

It is also Notable because it connects directly or indirectly with many articles already established on Simple Wikipedia.

If there is something further you wish me to do with this article, please do not hestiate to inform me. Thank you. MySweetMelissa (talk) 12:04, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the subject is notable. The issue is that the article was copied from English Wikipedia without being simplified. Just keep simplifying and it should be fine. If you plan to bring more articles from English Wikipedia, you might want to work on them in your userspace until they are simplified.
One more thing you need to do is give attribution. That's a legal requirement. You can do that with template {{translated page}}. Thanks, for your attention here and for all the articles you've been creating. --Auntof6 (talk) 13:20, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your re-consideration. I have added the template, I hope I have done so correctly, and I have greatly simplified and will continue to simplify in accordance with the requirements of Simple Wikipedia. Further, in future, I will prepare in my Sandbox before I create the article in mainspace. MySweetMelissa (talk) 14:01, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding the template. It should go on the talk page, not on the article itself. Also, it needs to indicate exactly which version of the enwiki article was the basis for the article here. When I get a chance, I'll look for instructions for all that (it's tricky on the device I'm using at the moment), or maybe another editor will point you to it before then. --Auntof6 (talk) 20:59, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the template from the article page and inserted here on the talk page per your instruction. I am not clear on how to determine what version was the basis for the article here. If you meant the exact date, I added it above. I took it from en-Wikipedia on this date and adapted it according to instructions for Simple Wikipedia. I hope this is what you meant. Thank you for your advice. MySweetMelissa (talk) 21:11, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Auntof6 means how it looked when it was taken from wp:en. For that, you will have to go back into the history of the page and provide a dif (a link to how it looked on the day you copied it). Because by now, the page has been altered through numerous revisions over time. Synergy 21:18, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Synergy. Here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Samoset&oldid=542487536. I put it above also. Thank you for your patience. MySweetMelissa (talk) 21:45, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
