xkcd[change source]

Should there be a section for the xkcd comic that refers to the Simple English Wikipedia?--Rvolz (talk) 13:56, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

It's negatively publicity but we need to be neutral. DJDunsie (talk) 18:28, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
To me, it's not negative at all. (talk) 04:14, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

People with learning disabilities[change source]

I have changed the phrase "adults who find it quite often hard to learn" to "people with learning disabilities". This phrase was needlessly wordy and euphemistic and already redirected to the Wikipedia page on learning disabilities, which is not a derogatory term.

Oops, I thought I was on regular English wikipedia, I now see that I am on Simple English Wikipedia, which may explain the awkward phrasing. I will revert and allow somebody who knows the subject better to make this decision.

Pages on technical subjects[change source]

I think we should acknowledge the fact that Basic needs extensions for technical subjects. Something like

"Technical subjects may use some terms which are not simple. Every effort will be made to explain these terms in simple language".

Other languages[change source]

Wouldn't it be awesome if there were simple versions of other languages? I sometimes find that other languages have better articles, but I almost always have to use google translate to understand them. For people who are learning other languages and are able to understand simple forms of those languages, and for people who want to get another culture's perspective on an article, this would be great. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 22:33, 23 February 2012‎ UTC (talk)

The place for such requests is here on Meta-Wiki. (I love Google Translate!)  Hazard-SJ  ㋡  03:44, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

I'll agree that there are agree a lot of controversial issues in this article, and, this should be fixed.

Why is it so?[change source]

Hey if there is a Simple English Wikipedia, why isn't there a Simple Spanish Wikipedia, Simple French, Simple German, Simple Danish, Simple Greenlandic, Simple Russian, Simple ALL languages???? Shouldn't there be? For someone who may be learning any of those languages, or other purposes? I mean, even though "Iwilldefeatitachi" vandalized the article, he did bring up a good point! AndmanIOI (talk) 17:52, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

Actually there are more "simple" Wikipedia's out there just look at the bottom of our main page for a list of them.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 18:03, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
(change conflict) I think that is because there is no need for a simple wiki of each language. I am not sure about this but this is what I think. If you would like, you could raise it up to the Wikimedia Foundation and if users agree it/they might be created. --Reception123/Receptie123 (talk) 18:06, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
@Mr Wiki Pro: Where do you see a simple wiki in another language? --Reception123/Receptie123 (talk) 18:09, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
I got it wrong it wasn't on the main page but I'm sure I've seen other simple wikis.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 22:23, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Could you give me a link? --Reception123/Receptie123 (talk) 04:45, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

How to contribute to the Simple English Wikipedia?[change source]
