Notability[change source]

"Swahili Wikipedia‎; 14:51 . . (-28) . . Juliancolton (Talk | changes) (decline speedy, Wikipedias are notable)"

Does it really meet en:WP:WEB, as the article currently stands? While I'm not completely doubting it is notable, I see no proof of it. Given the size of this project, articles should not be created with no references, as the chances are none will be added! Soup Dish (talk) 15:08, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I endorse the decline. Start checking the en version from now on. Synergy 15:11, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would never have created the article if I did not think it was notable. Do not think that I do not know the en:WP:WEB and en:WP:N guidelines well; the opposite of that is true. I know both of those policies very well. Razorflame 15:14, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We should not assume our readers will even know EN exists. As the article currently stands, notability is not established. Soup Dish (talk) 15:19, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, as the article currently stands, it does establish notability. It says that the website is a Wikipedia and that it has over 9,000 articles. If that does not establish notability, then what will? Razorflame 15:23, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

At what article number does notability begin? Soup Dish (talk) 15:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Most likely over the 5,000 article mark, which is why there are articles on the English Wikipedia for Wikipedias with 5,000 or more articles. Stop creating drama. Razorflame 15:35, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If it has an en.wp article, it's most likely notable enough to justify inclusion. –Juliancolton (talk) 16:13, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's true. He's bringing drama. In Afrika, Swahili Wikipedia is second largest Wikipedia after Afrikaans Wikipedia. I hope there's no need to elaborate more. But also I see some problem on creating this article. Is too short to compare with English Wikipedia (also short) - means no need to make it short again. See Simple English Wikipedia on Swahili Wikipedia the way we wrote it. It's great and not too short stub as much as Swahili Wikipedia wrote here in Simple! Anyway, I don't blame anything on it, but to say thanks for the superb article! Cheers.--Mwanaharakati(Longa) 16:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In Afrika, Swahili Wikipedia is second largest Wikipedia after Afrikaans Wikipedia - thanks, that has satisfied my concern Soup Dish (talk) 16:27, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Swahili Wikipedia, now has an article more than 10,000. I suggest to change it's category from the list of Wikipedia with the articles 1,000 to the Wikipedias with the articles 10,000! I will really appreciate it if of the user from here are considering to make changes from that template! Cheers,--Mwanaharakati(Longa) 14:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I will get right on it. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 14:31, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
