The article didnt have any refs and lots of confusing and controversial claims etc--have cleaned up a bit and requested more citations and refs and added one. Hamneto (talk) 11:52, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Hamneto[reply]

I am a resident of Yousafzai Swat. Our ancestors replaced the Swati Tribe about 500 years ago. According to our elders the Swatis were proper Afghan Pashtuns from Afghanistan. They came to Swat about a 1000 years ago with a General of Mahmood of Ghazni named Pir Khushab Ghazi. At that time Swat was ruled by King Odi of Odigram. The present Kohistani's or Dardic people were his subjects. Pir Khushab defeated King Gira and he ran away to Kohistan along with his people. The Kohistani's of Kalam claim they are the descendent of King Gira. The Afghan soldiers who came with Pir Khushab Ghazi decided to stay in Swat and became known as the Swati tribe. So the Dardic Kohistani people and the Swatis are not one people but from different stocks.
