If you are going to be purist / idealist why use a symbol that looks like PI?! Call a spade a spade and make it a symbol that looks like a circle. Say underscore O, an O with a dot in the middle or be creative and draw Pacman.

In engineering per unit calculation is used quite frequently but not for angle. I propose using per unit angle instead of degrees. This makes the conversion from "Proradians" / "Tau" to per unit angle super simple, just take away the symbol. 0.5"Tau" in a semicircle = 0.5"Tau[pu]
