Untitled[change source]

Ted Cruz is NOT the first Latino to hold the position of US Senator. He is simply the first Latino US Senator to represent Texas. This needs to be clarified in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.48.128.150 (talkcontribs) 09:38, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect or misleading description in the first paragraph[change source]

The article begins with the description, "...is a Canadian-American politician. He is the junior United States Senator from Alberta, Canada and resides in Texas." Calling Cruz a "Canadian-American politician" and "the junior United States Senator from Alberta, Canada" can lead the casual, uninformed reader to believe that Cruz lives in Canada and somehow represents Alberta in the US Senate. Cruz is the junior Senator from Texas. That is the proper way to describe him. Regarding the "Canadian-American politician" description, that is a false statement since Cruz himself has never identified as a Canadian and in 2014 he renounced his Canadian citizenship after a newspaper discovered in 2013 that Canada considered him to be a citizen. Here is a link to a Time Magazine piece that reports this: https://time.com/2854513/ted-cruz-canadian-citizenship/ In the context of his birth, it is accurate to describe him as having been born with dual citizenship and therefore "Canadian-American," but only in the context of citizenship. In terms of the nationality of his parents, it is more accurate to describe him as "Cuban-American." But in the context of his upbringing, Cruz is simply an American and should be described that way. The descriptions on the regular Wikipedia page gets all this right. I contend that the entry discussed here violates the neutral point of view guideline. --BillEastland (talk) 16:46, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cruz and trump[change source]

I noticed a user has removed information on that. They said:

The personal life section was too subjective and opinionated as opposed to factual. Suggesting Ted Cruz is scared of Donald Trump is impossible to say factually. Evidence for this is only found by media that is speculating in the same subjective manner.

Sources were removed, so I reverted it. But then it was reverted because:

Makes suggestions that are subjective. Impossible to fact check the relationship between Ted Cruz and Trump in such a manner. Such connection lacks nuisance and is highly speculative.

What do you think about this? Should this removed information come back or not? Darubrub (Let me know) 18:18, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not very familiar with politics in the US, but this was sourced information being removed. We are supposed to show what reliable sources cover. --Ferien (talk) 18:21, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I guess we can agree to restore the sourced information? Darubrub (Let me know) 18:46, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think it should be restored. I've had a look at the articles and they don't seem to be marked as opinion pieces. --Ferien (talk) 18:57, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
