Talk:Terrapin

I live in the South of England. Close to where I live their is a park with a Pond. The story goes a few years ago more than 5 someone put some terrapins in the pond. The rangers fished them out but one escaped. We have seen it for 5 years and now about 6 inches across and 8 inches long. We called him Tommy and it now comes when called much like a dog. It seems Intelligent. We are not sure if it is a boy or a girl but has the appearance of a small Leather back. with Long nails and green and yellow markings on the legs. A few weeks ago we think some one put another one in the Pond well this one is smaller about 2 inches across much lighter in Colour with black ridged spots. It seems to have also settled in to the Pond. But this last week we have also seen a small baby one on a Branch. can a baby be born in 2 months. Can the turtle have found their own way to this pond or do you think some one placed it there. They are really fascinating. Tommy the older one he is now to heavy to sit on a Lilly pad. The other one likes to sun itself on a Branch and we think it is female. the way it flaunts itself on the branch with legs outstretched. It has a longer neck, a smaller face and very pretty eyes.
