Transposing instruments[change source]

This entry states in the opening paragraphs that the recorder is a transposing instrument. Further on, near the end of the entry, it states that the recorder is not a transposing instrument. One of the statements must be wrong. Which is it? 46.15.124.32 (talk) 09:54, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are different versions:
  • 'Treble key':
  • Garklein/Sopranissimo: sounds two octaves higher than noted
  • Soprano/Descant: sounds one octave higher than noted
  • Tenor: as noted
  • 'Bass key':
  • Bass: as noted
  • Sub Great Base: 1-2 octaves lower than noted.
In addition, each of them exists in C and in F. Eptalon (talk) 11:02, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
