in what way was Verdis considered a fake/hoax? If you look at the deletion log of the media files, the deletion was only proposed and backed by one person (The Banner). That person's talk page on commons is shown to have aggression and even admins have suggested not to talk to him.
Sure verdis was founded by a then 14-year-old kid but so were many other Micronations on Wikipedia such as w:Austenasia. That shouldn't make it a hoax. It has reached enough notability on WRAL, RTL, TELEX, and more.
Micronations are not always serious, for example w:Molossia. This does not mean they should be deleted. If you believe otherwise, you can start an RFD, but give everyone a voice.
I apologize if this was recreated in a way that wasn't according to Simple English guidelines, but at least allow users to have a say in the request for deletion. BrodieMan201 (talk) 12:47, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- Just a comment about the above remark ("not always serious") - I find this baffling, as Molossia evidently had an identity and history. Particularly notable for the Molossus dog. - -- Deborahjay (talk) 19:27, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- @BrodieMan201: Micronation is used on similar but more notable articles and is the generally accepted term for such, I feel most users here could either hover over the link and understand that it was a self-claimed country in the sense of it not being recongised by the United Nations.
