Did the Wright Brothers really invent the airplane?[change source]

Its wrong. The Airplane was invented by Alberto Santos Dumont, but he did't patent his invention, to estimulate the inovation of its invent. We can easily check this information, even because it was confirmed by the USA ex-president Bill Clinton, who (in 10/13/1997) referred for Santos Dumont as the Father of Aviation. And even more, he had some kind of GNU spirit, because all his inventions were not patented, he let the public use it as they wish so... Sorry for the bad english. Try checking some sources and ou will see that it is truth... Let justice be done!!! Thanks 201.8.165.246

The page says "making the first controlled, powered, heavier-than-air flight" and this is right. Other people designed planes, but the Wright brothers built and flew the first controlled, powered, heavier-than-air vehicle.—This unsigned comment was added by 24.96.135.4 (talkchanges) 03:53, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Expansion of this article[change source]

For an article that has been on the list of the 1000 articles every Wiki should have, this is very brief. I'm going to expand it. BTW, also cleaned up the talk page Purplebackpack89 (talk) 22:28, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
