Usage
Template:ISO 639 name zh-cn is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code zh-cn, for example: {{Translated page |zh-cn |name of page at Chinese (PRC) Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Chinese (PRC) Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Chinese (PRC) Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |zh-cn}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|zh-cn| some text in Chinese (PRC)}} wraps the text with <span lang="zh-cn"> and could be used by the template {{Lang}} with language code zh-cn to include articles in Category:Articles containing Chinese (PRC)-language text (may be created using {{Category articles containing non-English-language text |Chinese (PRC) |zh-cn}}).
- {{R from other language|zh-cn|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Chinese (PRC)-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|zh-cn}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Chinese (PRC)-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
