MetroLyrics was a major legal licensor of lyrics of popular songs from Gracenote's lyrics licensing service (see Gracenote press release). This template is designed to link to the lyrics page for a particular song or track on their site. For example, {{MetroLyrics song|christina-perri|a-thousand-years}} would produce:

For songs with multiple versions or covers, you can specify the desired version with the optional version parameter. For example, {{MetroLyrics song|allman-brors|statesboro-blues|version=The Allman Brothers Band cover}} would produce::
