Template:Parliament.ch/doc

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Function[change source]

In biographies of Swiss parliamentarians (members of the Swiss National Council or the Swiss Council of States), this template may be used to link to the corresponding profile on website of the Swiss parliament, usually under the "References" or "External links" heading.

The outline of the profile is generally in the main language of the parliamentarian (German, French, Italian, or Romansh), even on the English language version of the website.

Usage[change source]

{{Parliament.ch|ID|AlternateName|date=}}

where ID is the ID number of the profile. The ID number is apparent in the URL, for example http://www.parlament.ch/E/Suche/Pages/biografie.aspx?biografie_id=267.

The parameter AlternateName is optional, but if used must immediately follow the ID. When used, this name will appear as the name of the parliamentarian. Otherwise, the article name will appear.

The parameter date= is optional. When supplied with the date of the retrieval of the profile in ISO 8601 YYYY-MM-DD format, e.g. 2007-12-03, it appends version information to the reference. The date text must not be wikilinked.

Examples[change source]

{{Parliament.ch|267}}
results in:
Biography of Samuel Schmid on the website of the Swiss Parliament.

  • But in the same article

{{Parliament.ch|267|Samuel Schmid (Bern)}}
would result in:
Biography of Samuel Schmid (Bern) on the website of the Swiss Parliament.

  • Using the date:

{{Parliament.ch|267|Samuel Schmid|date=2006-08-13}}
results in:
Biography of Samuel Schmid on the website of the Swiss Parliament. Retrieved on 2006-08-13.
