Choices[change source]

The most recently available definitive document is THE ORDER OF WEARING AUSTRALIAN HONOURS AND AWARDS, 25 September 2007. Amongst other things, it states:

  • Post-nominals within the Order of St John are not recognised as notified in the Governor-General’s media release of 14 August 1982.

This list is presented in five sections, giving the post-nominals for honours and awards:

  • within the Australian System of Honours and Awards
  • conferred by The Sovereign in exercise of the Royal Prerogative
  • which recognise public and professional service and achievement
  • Imperial awards, and
  • Foreign awards.

Note that honorary awards of the Order of Australia are not made to Australians.
