What should we do with this template?[change source]

With the introduction of Wikidata, this template is no longer needed. There was a discussion at EnWiki, and I feel that it is neccessary to bring it up here. I didn't RFD it since there's around a thousand transclusions of this template, although I don't recall it being used recently. Please express your opinions below, and maybe we can reach a consensus of what to do with this template. Watch and wait. In addition to the link you give, see this discussion. It sounds like we eventually want to have all the data in Wikidata, but it's not there yet and some tools still use persondata. I don't know if said tools access Simple English Wikipedia. I notice that the discussion you linked had a result of "deprecate" (but not remove yet), but there is no note on the template about that. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:36, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
