Thampi Kannanthanam (11 December 1953 – 2 October 2018) was an Indian movie director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He worked in Malayalam cinema. He directed 16 movies. He was born in Kanjirappally, Kottayam, India.

His first directorial movie was Thavalam. He has also acted in Itha Oru Theeram (1980), Attimari (1981), Madrasile Mon (1982), Thudarkatha (1991). His best known directing works were in Rajavinte Makan, Vazhiyorakazchakal, Bhoomiyile Rajakkanmar, Indrajaalam, Naadody, Chukkan, and Maanthrikam.

Kannanthanam died of a short-illness at a private hospital in Kerala, India on 2 October 2018 at the age of 64.[1]
