The Last Picture Show is a 1971 American drama movie directed by Peter Bogdanovich and based on the novel of the same name by Larry McMurtry. It stars Jeff Bridges, Timothy Bottoms, Cybill Shepherd, Ellen Burstyn, Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, Eileen Brennan, Clu Gulager, Randy Quaid. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures and was nominated for 8 Oscars and won 2 Academy Awards in 1972. It was followed up by Texasville in 1990.
