The Red Shoes is a 1948 British musical drama movie directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and was based on the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. It stars Anton Walbrook, Marius Goring, Moira Shearer, Robert Helpmann, Léonide Massine, Esmond Knight, Austin Trevor, Irene Browne and was distributed by General Film Distributors. It won 2 Academy Awards and was nominated for 3 others in 1949.[1]
