The Story of a Bad Boy is a book by Thomas Bailey Aldrich. It is based in part on his life as a boy in New Hampshire. The book is considered the first in the "bad boy" genre of literature. The story was first published in parts (serialization) in 1869 in the magazine Our Young Folks.[1] It was published in book form in 1870.
