Thomas Richard Nides (born 1961)[1] is an American banker and politician. He was the United States Ambassador to Israel from December 2021 to July 2023 under the Joe Biden administration.[2]

From 2013 to 2021, he was the managing director and vice-chairman of Morgan Stanley. He was the United States Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources from 2011 to 2013 during the Barack Obama administration.
