Tilly van der Zwaard

Tilly van der Zwaard (18 January 1938 – 6 February 2019) was a Dutch middle distance runner. She was born in Leiden, the Netherlands. She participated in the 1962 European Athletics Championships in Belgrade where she won a bronze medal in the 400 m event.[1]

Van der Zwaard twice represented her native country in the 400 m event at the Summer Olympics, in 1964 and 1968.[2] Her best achievement was sixth place in 1964.[2]

Van der Zwaard died in Edgewater, Florida on 6 February 2019 from complications of Alzheimer's disease, aged 81.[3]
