Todd Portune

Todd Portune (August 14, 1958 – January 25, 2020) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician. He was a member of the Cincinnati City Council and as a Hamilton County Commissioner from 2001 through 2019. Portune was known to be socially liberal and fiscally conservative.[1] He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 2003, he was diagnosed with spinal cancer. His spinal tumour burst causing paralysis of his legs and his left leg to be amputated. After years in remission, the cancer returned in 2019 and metastasized. He announced his political retirement in September 2019.[2]

Portune died from the disease on January 25, 2020 in Cincinnati at the age of 61.[3]
