John Peter Bain (8 July 1984 – 24 May 2018), commonly known by his online aliases TotalBiscuit, The Cynical Brit, and TotalHalibut, was a British indie gaming commentator and game critic on YouTube. He was born in Spennymoor, County Durham.

Bain was known for his role in professional casting for games such as StarCraft II and PlanetSide 2, as well as for his regular gaming commentary videos. Bain voiced strong support for consumer protection in the gaming industry.

Bain announced that he had terminal bowel cancer in October 2015.[1] He formally retired from YouTube in April 2018.[2] He died on 24 May 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina of the disease at the age of 33.[3][4][5]
