Tromsø is a city in Norway. It is in Tromsø municipality and Troms county. Most of the city is on a small island called Tromsøya.
Tromsø is the largest city in Northern Norway.

Ships, each with hundreds of tourists, came to Tromsø, already around 1850; the largest[1] tourist attraction there, was the Sami camp in Tromsdalen.
Living polar bears were being sold in Tromsø, author Cora Sandel wrote in 1904.[1]
The University of Tromsø was opened in Tromsø in 1972.
