Ulrich Kienzle

Ulrich Kienzle (9 May 1936 – 16 April 2020) was a German journalist and author. He worked mainly in the area of politics and culture of the Middle East. He worked for many broadcasters, including German public television networks ARD and ZDF. He was one of few Western journalists to interview Muammar Gaddafi in the 1970s. He also interviewed Saddam Hussein in 1990. Kienzle also appeared in Frontal, a ZDF series of political discussions with broadcast journalist Bodo Hugo Hauser.

Kienzle was born in Neckargröningen, Remseck, Württemberg. He died on 16 April 2020 in Wiesbaden, Hesse. He was 82.[1]
