University of North Carolina at Asheville is a co-educational, public liberal arts university in Asheville, North Carolina. The university has about 3,644 students. It was founded in 1927. The current chancellor of the university is Kimberly van Noort.

The athletics teams of the university are called the Bulldogs. They have 6 varsity teams for men and 6 for women, most of which compete in the Big South Conference.
