Dorothy Day (November 8, 1897 – November 29, 1980) was an American activist that was well known for her fights for her beliefs. She was a pacifist that spoke for nonviolence,[1] and most notably fought for Women’s Suffrage through the Catholic Church.[2] Her social actions helped join many Catholic religious traditions and activism into social structures and situations.[3] Day famously co-founded the Catholic Worker Movement with Peter Maurin in 1933, with the purpose to bring Catholicism to unite people with justice and charity. [4]
