From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi. This is my Fabs page. You know, my First Article Basic Skills page. You can read this page for help in making your own article.

This is my helper, Snufflesnout. He's adorable and darling and sweet and cute. He also likes lying in mud and typing with his eyes closed. He's left-hooved.

This is Snufflesnout's first attempt at writing a page. Naturally, he wrote about me.

Clementina, also called Radiant Imperial Joy-of-my-eyes, is a failure. I think she needs face surgery. She's a loser and she never replies to my emails. Loser. I'm bored. I think I'll stop writing this page now. Maybe snuffle around for some truffles while I'm at it. She has flowing, shiny dark hair that's pretty and stuff.

Bold as a billy goat[change | change source]

Try bolding the subject of the article. Snufflesnout will have to bold the word Clementina, since that's the article's subject. Like this:

'''Clementina''', also called '''Radiant Imperial Joy-of-my-eyes''', is a failure. I think she needs face surgery. She's a loser and she never replies to my emails. Loser. I'm bored. I think I'll stop writing this page now. Maybe snuffle around for some truffles while I'm at it. She has flowing, shiny dark hair that's pretty and stuff.

Easy, huh? :) You can try looking at some of our best articles or good articles for more help.

References rule[change | change source]

The more good references, the better. Where did you get all that great information? If it's from a book, it would be great if you could credit it. If it's from a website, copy the website's link. If Snufflesnout says something shocking, like, that I never reply to emails, he needs a reference. To put a reference there, just do like this:

She's a loser and she never replies to my emails.<ref>Snufflesnout, 2009, The Book of Learning How to Make Clementina Eat Pork Chops for Dinner, p. 27</ref> === References === {{reflist}}

Then the full article will come out like this:

Clementina, also called Radiant Imperial Joy-of-my-eyes, is a failure. I think she needs face surgery. She's a loser and she never replies to my emails.[1] Loser. I'm bored. I think I'll stop writing this page now. Maybe snuffle around for some truffles while I'm at it. She has flowing, shiny dark hair that's pretty and stuff.

References[change | change source]

  1. Snufflesnout, 2009, The Book of Learning How to Make Clementina Eat Pork Chops for Dinner, p. 27

If you want to be even more smart with references, try looking at the {{Citeweb}} and {{Citebook}} pages for help with your references. It's too hard to explain here, and my talk page is getting dusty, so just ask me if you have any trouble with it. It'll make me happy. Really!

Neutral point of view is nice[change | change source]

Obviously, Snufflesnout is not being neutral. He is being silly and ungrateful and writing from the point of view of a spoiled Internet piglet. So let's cut out some bits that are not neutral:

'''Clementina''', also called '''Radiant Imperial Joy-of-my-eyes''', is a failure female Wikipedian. I think she needs face surgery. She's a loser and She never replies to my emails.<ref>Snufflesnout, 2009, The Book of Learning How to Make Clementina Eat Pork Chops for Dinner, p. 27</ref> Loser. I'm bored. I think I'll stop writing this page now. Maybe snuffle around for some truffles while I'm at it. She has flowing, shiny dark hair that's pretty and stuff.

Now let's read it again.

'''Clementina''', also called '''Radiant Imperial Joy-of-my-eyes''', is a female Wikipedian. She never replies to emails.<ref>Snufflesnout, 2009, The Book of Learning How to Make Clementina Eat Pork Chops for Dinner, p. 27</ref> She has dark hair.

Every human who reads this will have to agree calmly with it. Even the vandal who hates me with the passion of a thousand burning suns will has to agree that I am a female Wikipedian with dark hair. Of course, I actually do reply to emails, so Snufflesnout's references need checking.

Pretty little linking[change | change source]

Blue! Blue skies! Blue oceans! Blue links!

Don't you just love blue?

It's good to link important words the reader might not understand. Just don't link too, too much. Use common sense. :)

An admin might come and ruin everything[change | change source]

Even so, a mean nasty bullying administrator like me might come along and delete the whole page altogether and leave an annoying note like this. <--See here for information about notability If so, find a better subject to write an article about...something respectable. You can use information from the English Wikipedia, if you want, just as long as you simplify it and copy a link about where it came from.

Anyway, I hope this helped. :) You can always drop by on my talk page to ask questions, or email me (I do reply). Big hugs and kisses, grace and peace by Jesus Christ, and happy changing!

And now please excuse me while I go eat some bacon.
