Short articles/Categories

Hey there, IuseRosary! Here are a few good pointers that you can use to help in the creation of articles that you might do in the future:

• If the article that you created is under 1,000 bytes, please include the {{stub}} template into the article near the end (below the Other websites, but above the interwikis (detailed below)). This will let other editors know that it is a short article that is in need of expansion.
• If you have no idea what categories an article that you create goes under, please include the {{uncat}} template to the article. This will let other editors know that you need help categorizing an article appropriately.
• Please remember to include interwikis at the bottom of an article. This will enable users to go between the many different Wikipedias that are in existance to check information and possibly add new information to the article here. It's mostly a convience thing.

Signature

Ok, here's the walkthrough on how to add it to make it so that when you sign, you can use it.

1. First, go to User:IuseRosary/sig and tell me if you like the colors I picked.
2. Second, click on My Settings up in the upper right hand corner.
3. Third, see where it says Nick.
4. Fourth, copypaste this: {{subst:User:IuseRosary/sig}} into the box next to Nick.
5. Fifth, click submit box on the bottom of the screen.
6. Sixth, follow the instructions about purging the cache on the bottom of the screen.

And you are all set!

Kate Nash

Hello there, and welcome to our project. I saw you created an article about Kate Nash. Here are some comments on it:

• It is good to use references, but do not forget to add a {{reflist}} at the end (in its own section, References).
• If you know the article exists in another wikipedia, add an Interwiki link to that article in the other Wikipedia
• Each article needs a category; if you do not know which category fits best add {{uncat}}
• The article still looks a little complex to me, I added a {{complex}} tag; try to use shorter sentences, and replace difficult words with easier ones. If you do not know how, look at How to write Simple English articles and Examples of simpler English.
• I added a redirect from Kate nash to Kate Nash.

Latin

After going through IamAR talk page, I noticed that the prayer that you wrote to him using your IP address was in latin. Presbyterians don't use the latin language at all, and any reference to it is looked down upon by the Church. --Gwib ^-(talk)- 17:50, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

You go to a Catholic Church every day, both your parents are Catholic, you use Rosary, you sing in your school choir in latin (so presumably your school is not a Presbyterian-friendly one) and there are no Presbyterian churches near you and yet most of your influences are related to Presbyterian religion? --Gwib ^-(talk)- 18:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Various comments

Hello IuseRosary, I hope you read these comments. I am open to comments; either on my talk page or here.

• Please do not evade or circumvent your block to respond, that is not the idea of the block.
• Removing content from pages (except where it is in the process of a simplifying an article) is almost always called vandalism. If you do not want these things to be known, do not post them here (Note: there is even a way to bring back deleted pages, though it requires admin privileges).
• What you believe, your religion, is your business; Insulting hard-working contributors (under whatever pretext) will not be tolerated, though.
• The Presbyterian church is a Protestant (Calvinist, to be exact) movement in its very essence. It is clear that they value Latin differently than the Catholics. Note however, that there were many Protestants (like Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach) who wrote great Latin masses.
• I have studied several years of Latin; I have sung various (catholic) masses, so if you want to talk about religion, I am probably a suitable person.
• Do not take religion as a pretext for something else; that is how to start fundamentalism; which is entirely unneeded.

Your apology

Thank you for your apology, I gladly accept it. However please note that I was not involved in your banning. I was also not involved in anything that went on between you and Gwib, that is an issue between you two, and does not concern me - beyond what I wrote above. It might however be a good idea to get on reasonable terms with Gwib; I would encourage both of you to sort out the issues that are between you two and to take the steps necessary so that you can again talk to each other.

What I wrote, titled Various comments above are more meant to be general comments and guidance; you are quite new here, after all. As to belief; it is indeed a difficult subject; I also do not agree with some positions of the official Catholic Church. But life is not easy for them either, there is a long history, and there are great expectations which are put in them. So they too need to walk a narrow line between reform and keeping their supporters.

Music Project

As there is no music project yet it is best not to mark pages as belonging it. However it would be a good idea to design a template that could be put on talk pages of relevant articles. That template could also ask for new members and keep a check on what articles are part of the project, perhaps by automatically putting them into a wikiproject category.--Bärliner 15:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Really a template only needs to say this {{User:IuseRosary/WikiProject/userbox/wpmusic}}. This article is in the project, the project is trying to get more articles. This is the project and click here to join.

With a template you can click on what links here to find out just what pages are already in the project.
