Text 1: Galaxy S6 facts[change | change source]

This comment contains inappropiate language and will be rewritten later. {{Navigationsleiste | TITEL = Galaxy S6 comment . Shooting and filming without OiS on the Note 3 was exremely annoying. There was a permanent and potential danger of a shake. But now, I have the luxory of a fast-starting and high quality S7 camera. No camera is currently better than the S7 (If anybody reads this in 10 years; it's June 2016. Remember, how good the Nokia 6111 was considered ten years ago? 1 Megapixel and QCIF video recording at 15 fps!!! No OIS (but the low light performance was better than Note 3). ) The S7 starts fast, focuses fast and it's big sensor captures so much light in combination to the bright aperture of F/1,7. At daylight and when holding steady, the Note 3 has actually a great camera, but here is the truth about it (german text:) http://www.giga.de/extra/archiv/specials/smartphone-kameras-warum-gute-fotos-zu-schiessen-nicht-mehr-ausreicht-kommentar/ (the features don't slow down the camera, but I can't launch it, if my lockscreen is protected. That was painful! Even iPhone-4-Users could do this. I could upgrade to Lollipop, but then I would lose my darling TouchWiz NatureUX 2.5 and mess up my user interface. On the S5, some of them were replaced with Shot&More, and could be added belated. That was a better solution, but it won't work properly on a PC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/samsung-camera-extract-shotmore-frames-t3314265 )

Actually, the 12 Mpx camera brings back the old and undesirable 4:3-format (I prefer 3:2 for photos, but 16:9 is better than 4:3). The main problem is, that the maximum 16:9 resolution is now 9.1 Megapixels. I know, everything, which is higher than six megapixels is really good, but the lower-res 9 Megapixels stills during video recording (16:9) was a pain for S4/N3 users infront of the S5,S6,N4,N5 users. But I compared it, and to be honest, the full-res S6 stills, which have 5312 times 2988 pixels, are not notable better than the S7 stills.

I wish that the camera app would allow me to capture full-res 4:3 (4032×3024) stills while recording in 16:9. But the S7 allows 4K-Video without 5-Minute-Limit and with still images! And zero-pause-lag. Well done! But the zero video start lag is still missing. And the zero shutter chain lag is still not as fast as the one on the iPhone. The possible reason could be the user interface, where no switching between photo and video mode is needed. This may caused the very slow camera speed on the Galaxy S4. The S7's camera user interface lost a great feature, which was actually lost on the S6, thanks to Hyun Yeul Lee: I can no longer costumize the settings. It is very important for me to access the video settings as soon as possible. But to set resolution, I have to go to the setting menu. Additionally, the LG V10 allows for independent bitrate and framerate control.

The sensor resolution of the S7 is 4032 by 3024 pixels. It would be smart to choose 4096 times 3072 pixels, or even 13 Megapixels, but choose an even bigger sensor size, because 3072 is 3*(2^10), which is 1,5*2^11. But 4096 pixels is the width of DCi-4K-video. The height is still 2160. The format is 256:135, which is DCi.

Another random fact: on daylight, the Note 3 camera is pretty much as good as the one for the Note 4 (my father has one) in photos ( http://www.giga.de/smartphones/samsung-galaxy-note-4/tests/vergleich-galaxy-note-3-vs.-galaxy-note-4-lohnt-sich-der-wechsel/page/3/ ), and the quality on the still video frames is also pretty much the same (which almost reaches S7), but the dynamic range (4K and HDR-Video are not possible at the same time yet, but the sensor, IMX 240, is newer than IMX135. But IMX 260, the one from the S7, is the „king of quality“. Let's see, what Note 6 brings us. Why not Note 7? because the number has to equal the last number from the year.) and the OIS (which Samsung should have thought of in 2012, because it's REALLY important. Zooming into 4K-Videos during playback, that were captured on the Note 3 will point up the weakness of lacking the OiS. But S5 and iPhone 6s also have none! This little girl in the Apple advertisement should have used an S7 or a RX10M3 for taking a video of onions) are great advantages for the Note FOUR. A disadvantage of the OiS is demonstrated by the iPhone (do NOT spell it Iphone but iPhone!!!), which relies too much on the OIS. It exposes the picture for up to a quarter of a second as demonstrated in the GSMArena-camera-test. In that case, the No-OIS iPhone 6 captured a better image! The only camera difference between 6 and 6+ is the OIS! But the 6+ relied too much on it. Additionally, the 6+ does not use optical video stabilisation. It is most likely caused by software. However, why? I can't stress, how important OIS for videos is. In this comment, I talked a bit negative about the Note 3, but it's actually been the biggest jump of Samsung! In the CHIP-Ranklist, it was just behind the S5 for a long time, and it had 3 GB of RAM, 4K video, S-Pen, good multitasking, 1080p@60fps ((the 1080p@120fps of the 6s is one of Apple's only few advantages, that could really cause jealousy. (Inapporpiate Language: ))But the fourth-generation RX100 and the third RX10 can record this anyway. The FZ1000 from 2014 also can do this, but the output has 30fps and no sound. So it's not good for video editing. That was another problem with Samsung's slow motion, that was corrected on the S6 after some of my inquiries. I also told them in late 2012, that they may put a torch/flashlight in the drop-down-menu. And they did it in 2015, finally!), humidity sensor, temperature sensor, Hybrid Air View (finger AND pen), gestures, no reduced Hyun-Yeul-Lee-menus, displaying EXIF-information, USB 3.0, removable 3200 mAh battery, SmartScreen (Smart Stay,Pause,Scrolling with eye or device movement, Smart Rotation), IR-Blaster, UI with Icons in context-menus, three microphones, old and beautiful Galaxy logo with angular and futuristic font, faux-leather backside with high shock-cushing/bend/scratch resistance, MicroSIM (because NanoSim sucks), MHL (MicroHDMI) etc.; ALL THIS in 2013!!! How pleasent must having a Note 3 have been? Only a few things such as Radio and unlimited calculator (limit is 2^1024) were missing.

But the S7-family is the only 4K,very good OIS,Waterproof,LowLight,240fps-recording,fast-starting and best-camera having, fast charging, OTG-supporting, 140K-Antutu-Beating (100K higher than late 2014), MicroSD-Supporting, 4GB-RAM (actually, 6 GB would be nice), good-battery-having, wireless charging, keyboard-case having, (edge only:) Edge-Tools(ruler, app launch, actions, missed calls)-having, super-bright-display-having,

In my opinion, there is some stuff, that Samsung could learn from LG too. The camera-application of the V10 is pretty much the most professional one that I've seen. And their keyboard allows accessing special characters like on the GT-i8000 from 2009, without opening [Sym]. Not to forget, they have a num-pad-mode too (as also seen on Omnia 2), as far as I know. And the V10's design is beautiful, robust, and does not slide out of the hand. It also doesn't take so many visible fingerprints. But that's just random stuff. The Note 6 will probably bring 2160p@60fps, HDR-4K, 4K-Selfiecamera with OiS, physical shutter key (as known from xPeria, hybrid Galaxy camera phones with optical zoom, and the darling GT-i8000 (which could run EXE-Files!!!) .) and some other stuff.

One thing, that I have been secretly jealous about on iPhone users and Sony/some Huawei users, is (guess what?) no, not ForceTouch. 3D-Touch is a good and useful feature, but not as useful as the S-Pen. Note 6 will bring 3D-Touch anyway. But it's the position of the camera. I really prefer the camera to be placed in the corner instead of the middle! Placing the camera in the corner makes the phone less symetric, but I don't look at the backside when I use my phone. I look at my front side (except YotaPhone-users and people, who use their back camera for blind-shooting selfies (me too. Front cameras suck).) the whole time.

Here is a list of advantages of a corner-camera: --It does not interfere with the casing and the practical design. (optical design is subjective. Practical design is robustity, thicker phone for more hardware, and a good grip. In 2015, Samsung satisfied removable battey for a higher waterproofness. They could have triple-sealed the MicroSD-slow, but one seal may be enough. But more seals would be better. Non-practical design is e.g. the bentgate flaw, or how easy aluminium scratches and glass breaks. The iPhone 2G was almost tvelve millemeters thick, and nobody had a problem with it.) So here are advantages of a phone camera to be placed in the upper corner: - If I hold the camera horizontally, the camera is placed higher. But that's just a minor difference for the recorded photos/videos. The big difference is, that it's very unlikely to cover the camera with your hand or fingers. If you shoot in sunny weather, you can use your hand as the cap of the camera more easily, if you hold it horizontally, with volume keys up (I actually prefer holding it horizontally with volume keys down). So you can cover your camera from direct sunlight that might interfere, without having to worry about covering it accidentally. -On the Galaxy S7, the flash is so low, that it is almost impossible to take photos with flash with the native camera grip. But I think, that the flash is not meant to be used on the Galaxy S7. -I can take photos sthealthy more easily. If I make use of my portable device at school, and I don't want the teacher to see me capturing a photo, it's less likely to be catched, if 90% of the phone's casing is below the table. Only 10% is visible, because I have to hold my phone above the table high enough, so that the camera is above the table. If the camera is placed in the MIDDLE, where Samsung and HTC (most devices) place it, I have to hold up at least half of the phone until the camera lense is above the horizon of the table.. (I could shoot vertically, but the S7 camera has also moved down a bit from the longer side. And vertical shooting sucks. So that's no advantage on the S7 anymore. Alternatively, I can put my hands up and hold the camera very high above the table, for half a second and shoot quickly, in the moment, where the teacher is writing something down or is busy with documents or other classmates. The fast autofocus and OIS are godlike in that moment.) -If the phone is in my right pocket, I can spy more easily with it, because the camera is right at the corner, which is the first and therefore most likely place at the phone to look out of the pocket. But I place my S7 with home-button up in my pocket for this reason: #GotThatShot: http://pastebin.com/HeU9h7ie [old: http://pastebin.com/pJeverAy] (I actually rather put the phone into the pocket with the screen on the inner side.) -I can enter more easily into corners. Let's say, that I want to hold my camera very close to the ground or to a wall, and shoot horizontally at the same time (and not vertically and upside-down). If the camera is on the side, I can penetrate into every corner with the camera, while that's much harder with a camera, which is more away from the corners of the device's backside (the front camera is near to the corner on some phones such as Note 3 and Note 4, but as already mentioned, front cameras suck. Only the HTC One M10 has one with OIS. (I prefer calling it One M10 instead of just HTC 10.)). Imagine a camera, which is placed exactly in the horizontal AND vertical middle of the casing. Then, it would not just look unusual, but it would be unlikely to cover it with the hand on bigger devices, but imagine that on a tablet, where the camera is placed in the middle instead of 5 cm higher. How unplaesent would that be? I will reply to this comment with a link to a sample sketch image. The camera placement/position is one of the only things, that have been deteriorated on the Galaxy S2 in comparrison to the S1 in 2010.Random, irrelevant fact: the video resolution on cameras improved on S2 and Note 3. Both have flash and camera placed on one frame. Is that random or deliberately?) A smartphone successor should only have improvements and should cover the full feature range of it's predecessor. It should not lose any features at all, Hyan Leul Lee and your sister jYoun gHee L33! (no offense to the ETH961 hero pilot, Leul Abate (do not froget Yonas Mecrurià.)) ( -When the camera is in the middle, it is lower by a few centimetres, when holding horizontally with home button on the right. This could be the difference between being able to reach something high with the camera, and getting your camera over it, and not reaching it. -The brain can estimate much faster, where exactly the camera at the other side of the casing is, when I look at the phone from it's fromt side. I know, that it is exactly at the other side of that corner, when glancing at it. But when it is in the middle, the brain has to estimate the vertical (when holding horizontally) position, and since S6 even the horizontal position. The brain has to estimate, where not to put the finger. And in daily usage, the camera in the middle can quickly be accidentally touched, when somebody is trying to hold the device in a comfortable way. Otherways, the user always has to try, not to cover it with the fingers. That can always be annoying. And touching the camera again can leave a fingerprint on the camera glass, which will disturb the autofocus. It may not be so accurate. -A corner camera does not interfere with the design, and the way you hold it. It is placed at the corner, where you are at least likely to make the glass of the lens dirty with your finger by touching it. I hope that the Galaxy S7's superior 100%-dualpixel-A/F is immune to it. (oops, I repeated this point.) -Actually, holding the camera in the stamina version of the classical Samsung grip, which could actually supports audio recording quality by a little bit, might cause the camera to be covered accidentally by a finger, but that's unikely. <<O.F.Tc.>ONLY FOR TEXTCACHE: -It might be possible, that I mentioned something twice.>

--I probably forgot to mention something. If it jumps back to my mind again, I will mention it in a comment reply to this comment below. By the time you are reading this, the comment may have already been written.

This is one of those are just details, that are only relevant to ultimate power users, and nobody actually thinks about it, but Samsung just may consider that. I wish that there was ONE absolutely perfect phone, which is capable of EVERYTHING that all other phones do. I would buy the mother of all phones at it's release date to show off ultimately. (I know, showing off sucks, but tech experts love showing off with their equipment.)

In their subconciousness, Samsung/HTC-flagship-users know, how much better Sony and Apple placed their camera. Additionally, Sony has a physical shutter button. It could also be used for games as an additional key! That would be very useful! How could Samsung remove it with their Android devices, when the Omnia-Devices since 2009 actually had them?

Please forgive me for this long comment. I hope it not to be irrelevant and annoying. —CaptainTech's tech support service. Bei Technikfragen techLord fragen. -->

Old Instagram website[change | change source]

The old Instagram website, which looked like this, had a page header with live-updating pictures and was able to display five pictures in row. That's not equivalent to the mobile app, but computer screns should pull advantages out of their size.

=== Cheap equipment === Of course, more expensive protective accessories such as a waterproof case and a re-inforced display protection are more robust of course, and offer a higher protection. But even the cheapest equipment works very protective against random minor damages in everyday-usage.

=== iPhone === iPhones are not neccessairly bad. iPhones are still good, powerful phones, and they even have some useful advantages such as:

* Force-Touch * Absolute zero chain shutter lag (possibly, because the camera user interface ) * Video recording at 1080p@120FPS. * Burst shot limit (the maximum number of photos in row) is 999 and not twenty or thirty.

But in many ways, devices such as the LG V10 and the Galaxy Note series and even the Samsung Omnia 2 were equipped more extensive. They have more software features, more hardware features in most areas, and because Apple started to extend it's closed system in 2011, it is not compatible to universal hardware such as USB, MHL (MicroHDMI) and MicroSD. Additionally, they are lacking of many standard features of competitors, such as RAM capacity and multitasking, wireless charging, real waterproofness (not temporary waterproofness, where the device just survives a pool accident, but the warrenty is void), higher charging ampèrage, etc. Additionally, they sacrifice more important capabilities such as battery runtime just for design.

The Galaxy S7]] had a non-removable battery for a stronger resistance against water, but the iPhones (and even the S6) proove, that „design with purpose“

Hyun Yeul Lee, Vice President at Samsung's mobile user experience innovation team,

was a lie.

iPhones are not bad at all, and have several minor advantages over competitors, but they are equipped in a lean way in many fields and ways.
In a tech shop , I have never seen the number 1715.

=== TouchWiz NatureUX 3.0 === The user-interface, which was introduced with the Galaxy S5 had many deep-sea-blueish colours. But the user interface was also flattned a bit and random user interface elements such as icons in context menus were removed, which makes it harder to navigate through the menus, and barely possible, if the language settings are messed up.

*Funktionsvorschläge:
** Die Notfall-Strimversorgung
** mindestens Dreifache Wasser-Abdichtung (dreifache Gummi-Schicht)
** Der eFUSE-Chip ist ein elender Freiheitsräuber. [v2: Es wäre gut, wenn es entfernt wird.]
*Trollspielwiese:
** z.B. show Text strings in Keyboard cache[src]

=== DUMP ===
Einführung der Funktion extrem unwahrscheinlich, und sogar fast ausgeschlossen, jedoch Möglich: (unsortiert). (Je nach günstigkeit in verschiedenen Sprachen geschrieben.) (Random order)
Please note, this is NOT for Note 7 but note Note 6!
* Digital image stabilization for 1440p@60fps and 2160p@30fps.
* WLAN-Icon should display, whether the device is connected to the internet or not.
* 16:9 Viewfinder: If the maximum sensor resolution is still 4:3, the viewfinder will show the maximum possible FoV with the full 16:9 picture. The Nintendo 3DS alsu uses this technique.
* iDR (infinite dynamic range) mode
* Set ISO and exposure during burst shot, if not already possible.
* Stufenlose ISO-Lichtempfindlichkeit
* S-Pen: höhere Distanz
* S-Pen unter Wasser benutzbar. WACOM-Digitizer erkennt UuUnterschiednterschied.
* Schnelleinstellungen: negative Farben
* HDR-Foto: EXIF-Daten für jedes einzelne Standbild + „original Speichern“. Wenn ein iPhone das schon hat, muss ein Galaxy erst recht darüber verfügen.
* Clear hidden notifications
* In den Entwicklereinstellungen kann man festlegen, das mehrere Anwendungen gleichzeitugen Zugriff auf das Mikrofon erhalten.
* S-View-Cover: das schließen vom S-View-Cover während einer Videoaufnahme wird wie das Öffnen nicht die Aufnahme beenden, sondern nur diese Aktion in den EXIF-daten festhalten. S-View-Kamera kann nun volle Auflösung nutzen. Auch die S4-modelle beenden die Videoaufnahme erst nach mehreren Sekunden.
* N6: ADI für die Kamera
* N6: Geruchssensor
* N6: Gestensteierung met geschlossenem S-View.Cover.
* RAW-Videos
* Manuelle Einstellungen für die Innenkamera
* Bitrate, Framerate und Auflösung unabhängig voneinander einstellen
* Zeitlupenvideos ebenfalls pausieren. Diese Aktion wird in den Metadaten festgehalten.
* Lächerliche Vorstellung: EXIF-Daten für jedes einzelne Standbild im Video (ein Sony-Camcorder, Modellnummer wird später genannt, unterstützt dies jedoch)
* Metadaten halten fest, welche Parameter in der Kamera (z.B. Belichtungszeit) manuell eingestellt worden sind.
* Picture/video metadata contains accurate sensor data from gyro/accl sensor and camera focus during capture. The shake blur will not be fixed while taking the photo, to save battery. This can be done with a computer program using that data. Additionally, it might be interesting to know for some power users.
* Einträge aus Kontext-Menüs manuell ausblenden (alternative Lösung zu Hyun Yeul Lee)
* Keine überflüssigen Software-Begrenzungen (dazu später mehr)
* Gesture-Wake-Up (durch Gestencode entsperren.)
* Knock-Code als alternative
* Aufnahme von 4K-HDR, 1440p@120fps, 1080p@180fps, 720p@360fps, 480p@480fps und vielleicht 240p@960fps.
* Low-Light-Serienbilder möglich jedoch sehr langsahm.
* Auslösemodus: Schuss beim Drücken anstatt beim Loslassen der Kamerataste. Falls länger gedrückt wird, beginnt der Serienbildermodus.

* Falls ein Dual-Kamera-System eingeführt werden sollte, welches fast ausgeschlossen ist, könnte die erste kamera für LowLight,(6MP), die 2. als 160°-Kamera und die dritte als 26LL-Kamera genutzt werden.
* Wasserdichte durch S7-Werbecampagnen bestätigt: Samsung's entschlossenheit
* Diary-App vom S2
* Automatical face detection shutter (also works during video recording, as known from Xperia devices)
* -Intuitive Tastatur: Rücktaste. Nach dem Drücken nach hinten ziehen. Modus 1: mehr Distanz = höhere Geschwindigkeit. Modus 2: Ein Buchstabe [v2 Zeichen] pro __ Pixel.

Dump 5[change | change source]

Hello. I have a feature suggestion for Wikipedia. I had this feature suggestion a few months ago, but I never had a chance to express myself.

How about a pending-changes-block, which allows to block users in a different way, which is pretty much standard in the german Wikipedia: Every edit they make on any page will be saved as a pending edit, so that it has to be verified before being unlocked.
