From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sometimes, I find it hard to write Simple English. Reading advice from others regarding my own writing and comments to others, the following are some tips I should try to remember to follow. Some are written in short hand for me.

Simple English

  • Almost, not nearly.
  • Last, not final when discussing place or finish.
  • People or person, not sportspeople or sportsperson when context is clear they are people who play sports.

Names and places

  • United States, not United States of America except when in formal titles where apropiarte.

General tips

  • Avoid using conjunctions.
