The Abana was sailing on an Irish Sea ,Abana and Riverdance on anchorsholme beach,cleverest near Blackpool.The Northan part of the flyde Coast in notorious for its westery gales and fierce storms and from as early as 1755 shipwrecks have been recorded up and down the coast.Maney of these shipwrecks occurred close to Blackpool the Norwegian ship "Abana" was one these.The Abana was a three-masted barque of some 1200 tons and was built at St Johons nefouland in 1874.
