School IP address Welcome to Wikipedia, school user! Please note the following:

This IP address, 82.0.195.125, is registered to Hook The Priory Lsst , and may be shared by many different people. If this school uses proxy servers, many people at different computers, or even at different schools in an area, can connect to the Internet through this same IP address. Because of this, a message meant for one person may be read by another, often someone who has not done anything wrong, and a block of this IP address will mean that everyone using this address will not be able to change Wikipedia.

If you are making changes from this address and are getting messages that are not for you, you can avoid this by creating your own account. If you cannot do this, it most likely means that doing so has been stopped so that other users cannot make any bad changes. You will then have to make an account at home and log in with it here.

Please think before blocking this IP. If a block is needed, admins should consider a soft block.

Note: If this address is used for vandalism over and over again, making changes without an account may be disabled for up to 1 year at a time, and abuse reports may be sent to the people who run the school in cases of long-term disruption by people with accounts.
School staff, to monitor this IP address for disruptive changes, can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

Welcome[change source]

Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Simple English Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, easy, free, and does not ask for any personal information. It also gives you many benefits, including:

  • The use of a username of your choice
  • The ability to see all your edits with a "my changes" link
  • Your own user page
  • Your own talk page which, if you choose, also allows users to send you messages without knowing your e-mail address
  • The use of your own personal list of watched pages ("my watched pages") to which you can add articles that interest you
  • The ability to move/rename pages
  • The ability to customize the appearance and behaviour of the website
  • The right to vote in elections and on pages such as "Requests for deletion"

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Russian Revolution of 1905 page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. --rimshottalk 13:10, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your new changes are vandalism and this is not acceptable on any Wikipedia. Please stop. If your vandalism continues, you will be blocked from changing Wikipedia. BG7even 12:05, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent changes are vandalism, and this shows that you want to harm Wikipedia. This is your last warning. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from changing Wikipedia. BG7even 12:07, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from changing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of changing privileges.

Once the block has ended you are welcome to make helpful changes. Do remember that adding spam, making changes that do not have a neutral point of view, making personal attacks on others, not respecting other people's privacy, and vandalizing pages (including page blanking, or adding nonsense text or information that you know is wrong) are not allowed. If you do any of these things, you will be blocked again.

If you believe this block is unfair, you may request to be unblocked by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Hello, and about Andy Rourke[change source]

These books may look old, beautiful, and encyclopedic, but if they are not notable, we cannot make articles about them in the Simple English Wikipedia.

Hello, dear 82.0.195.125, and welcome to Wikipedia! :) I'm very sorry, but I had to delete a page(Andy Rourke) you recently made. This is because it did not explain why the subject was notable. You see, if Wikipedia had an article about every real person, thing, or company, we would not be able to remove bad or false information about people, or write clearly about famous or important subjects, especially since this is an encyclopedia. If you think this article should not have been deleted, please try making one in your user space and tell me when you think it's ready. I would be very grateful if you could show some good sources about it.

If this was just a test page, please don't worry! Many of our best users have begun by testing Wikipedia (including, um, me). ;) But next time, please try testing out how to change Wikipedia in the sandbox. This makes it easier for us to keep our encyclopedia looking neat and professional. Maybe you can also try working on pages that are already here first. These pages can also be very helpful in writing articles:

Help ~ Rules ~ Links to useful pages ~ How to write Simple English pages ~ A helpful little page of mine ~ Ask questions about Wikipedia

If you've read through this long speech, thanks. ;) If you have any questions or problems, you can ask me, and I'll do my best to help you, okay? Have a beautiful day! —Clementina talk 12:47, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
