Hi Almust. I'm sorry, but the page you created Gaedok didn't make any sense. Normally I would copyedit it using another Wikipedia or Google as a point of reference, but in this case it wasn't possible. The word got no useful hits on Google (maybe it was spelling?) and the only thing I could find on the Korean Wikipedia was about poision for dogs... Osiris (talk) 11:49, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see, so it's like a parody of Protestant Christians by internet users in Korea. And you mean it refers to the pastors? Is there a website you can link me to where the word is described? Thanks for following this up! :) Osiris (talk) 10:50, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are there any websites about it in English? It sounds like a neologism (신조어) to me, which aren't normally topics we have articles about. Osiris (talk) 11:46, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Gaedok and Gaedog(개독) is Korean language expressions spelling. -- Almust (talk) 11:54, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know but see for example Doenjang girl, another article about a Korean expression created recently. It has websites that write about it in English (mostly blogs, but at least it's something)... Is there anything like that for Gaedok? I couldn't find anything, but you might have better luck. Osiris (talk) 12:00, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Quick deletion of Gaedok[change source]

The page you wrote, Gaedok, has been selected for quick deletion. This is because the page was a page that had little or no meaning. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. Auntof6 (talk) 11:39, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Almust, I've moved this into your userspace for the time being so that you can work on it more. Please note that this is a temporary solution. We don't keep articles about new slang expressions (this wiki isn't a dictionary), so please show that it is more than that before you move it back. You can find your page at User:Almust/Gaedok. Kind regards, Osiris (talk) 04:41, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Neologisms, new slang expressions[change source]

Almust, I need you to read this guideline we have. Generally, new slang expressions are not subjects we have articles for in Wikipedia. We don't even maintain articles about common English neologisms (like "loser"). The term needs to be covered in reliable sources -- by covered I don't mean the slang term appears or is used by sources, I mean sources write about or describe the expression itself. Blogs, social media examples of usage are not enough to demonstrate notability, especially for something that we don't normally cover on Wikipedia. You might do better in Wiktionary, but even there it needs to be a pretty common expression.

I hope you understand, if there's anything you need me to clarify please ask. Kindly, Osiris (talk) 09:53, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles about teams at the Olympics[change source]

Please take a look at the small changes I made in South Korea at the Olympics and North Korea at the Olympics. The pattern of the introduction and history sections are mirrored in other similar articles -- for example, see Great Britain at the Olympics and Japan at the Olympics. What do you think? --Horeki (talk) 14:51, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Quick deletion of Lim Su-kyung[change source]

The page you wrote, Lim Su-kyung, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. Two of the things you did well are important:
  1. You did add a Korean name headnote ... good work.
  2. You did add Hangul and Hanja in the 1st sentence ... good work.
Auntof6 asks a good question about the substance of this article stub. I join her in wondering why we need to have an article about this person?
We also want to be sure to recognize that there was no problem with the format. --Horeki (talk) 18:25, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, the change here was not helpful. Please notice that it was reverted by me here. In other words, I restored the quick deletion headnote that Auntof6 posted. If you disagree, please add {{wait}} at the top of the page; and then explain on the talk page.

For emphasis, please give some thought to one sentence which I wrote a couple of days ago:

Auntof6 asks a good question about the substance of this article stub.
Please understand that Auntof6 is not alone in wondering why we need to have an article about this person? --Horeki (talk) 01:32, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the two new categories[change source]

Thanks for creating the birth year category and the death year category. I noticed that there was no category for the years themselves, so they appeared as red links on the birth/death year categories. I created the categories for the years. It would be great if you could check for that next time. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 20:47, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Quick deletion of Category:Korean Feminists[change source]

The page you wrote, Category:Korean Feminists, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. Auntof6 (talk) 00:28, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you created this category, and that there is only one entry in it. Here on Simple English Wikipedia, we want at least three entries in each new category. Please make sure there are three entries for any new categories you create. Can you get two more entries for this category? If not, we could just move Korean Democratic Party to Category:Politics of South Korea and Category:Political parties and delete this category. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 02:39, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
