hello! I am hoping you can help me, this user Roy, keeps making offensive comments about me, and accusations about me on Wiki En. He acts like he is the guy from "Le Miz" like a detective, this is making me uncomfortable! any advice? it is my opinion that he is carrying on a feud from Wik Eng. thanks! Eastvillagegroupie (talk) 23:11, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Be sure to check my contributions for any offensive comments to or about this user. Also, note there is no Eastvillagegroupie on Normal English Wikipedia, nor have I ever said anything about anything or anyone from Simple English on Normal English (my contributions there). Vector's RfCU

Hello. Isn't it time to close Vector's failed RfCU? His nomination was supposed to end Feb. 5. So why is it still there? Since you're the new 'crat, I thought that maybe you could handle the job. I certainly cannot. :P --§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 21:59, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

this guy only started editing Simple Eng When he saw that I had created an article here, I believe he is just here to further a feud from Eng.

Also he continues to write rude things about me on this "sock puppet reveiw" despite the fact that I dont edit Eng. What gives this guy (not an Admin even) the write to constantly watch and write rude things about me?

Thanks.

Eastvillagegroupie (talk) 14:55, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

this is also what I mean...he was the first one to put a comment on my talk page, given the history of my interactions with this person...why would he want to "welcome me"...this is obviously sarcastic and meant to harass me! , let's say you were living in a neighborhood and you moved away and had a neighbor you had problems with, and the first day you move in the person in question shows up at your front door!, can you blame me for feeling wikistalk? thanks!

Eastvillagegroupie (talk) 15:01, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, since the above user has laid all her cards on the table, I shall as well. Of course I knew from the start that Eastvillagegroupie = Tweety21. Tweety21 was banned from en.wiki for a number of reasons (disruptive editing and sock-puppetry being the main ones). Yes, being banned from en does not mean one is banned from all wikis. However, I think you will agree that letting a chronically problematic user know her edits are being supervised is not an unwise action. If you care to take the time to read the page Eastvillagegroupie linked above (sorry it's a bit long, there was a lot to document), you will find there is nothing rude written on that page, only a list of her disruptive edits. Also, as I have pointed out before, I doubt you will find a single bad edit on my part here on simple (except the comment to ChristianMan16 you disliked). Additionally, see this thread and this one for JzG's opinion on this user. Also, note that the only reason the user doesn't edit en is that all of the IPs she has access to are currently under long-term blocks there due to her abuse (65.119.181.165, 205.211.141.243, 173.33.21.101, 198.96.80.15, 216.191.208.99). Precious Roy (talk) 16:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
bringing up another user's opinion is irrelevant, I have countless examples of other users opinions of you, I recall someone accusing you of all kinds of things, this does not excuse leaving a harassing message on my talk page, to let me know "you are watching me" to someone on the net this can be seen as "wiki - stalking" seriously! move on! and user "JcZ" has said all kinds of things about people, he was brought up on reveiw a few times too. This is irrelevant, we all make mistakes. If you want me to list the countless people you have had problems with, bring it on. I can list an entire anthology
You have no more reason to bother or leave remarks on my talk pages than you did with Christian Man, who died and made you the detective from Les Misérables we all make mistakes but this obsessive monitoring of what I am writing about is bizarre! I happen to like/admire certain musicians.
In fact I listen to Frank Sinatra EVERY day! he is awesome. Why do you give a crap about what music I am interested in? This is too much.
I just want an end to the pestering, I think I deserve the same respect as any other user here, same as Christian Man. Eastvillagegroupie (talk) 17:25, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't care what music you're interested in and have never said I did, so I don't know why you bring that up, unless it's another straw man. Nor have I ever "pestered" you. And I only brought up JzG because he had to deal with the steady stream of OTRS tickets you filed, and as a ranking admin I felt Chenzw might want his opinion (as opposed to a rank and file editor). While I may have stepped on a few toes in my time on Wikipedia, "countless" is quite an overstatement. And of those "people [I] have had problems with", I have never been sanctioned or blocked, let alone banned, for my actions, which is far more than I can say for you. Remember, if you want your accusations against me to hold water, you should go through my edits and provide the links as proof.
Please don't return to edit en.wiki. Please do continue to edit all the other Wikipedias that you want to, including this one, but follow the rules. And remember, one of the rules is "If you don't want your contributions to be changed or deleted, don't edit". I'm not trying to stop you from creating articles on Jordan Galland, I just want you to follow the rules. Precious Roy (talk) 18:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am just asking to be left alone, I have a life and don't wish to pursue the tired old dramas!and useless debates. This is not the OJ Simpson trial you know. thanks much. Putting "Welcome" on my talk page was annoying to me as I Know it was meant to harass b/c of the history going on here.
please respect that and my privacy. over. done.

Statement

Hello to all of you, here are a few points:

  • All of the links above link to the English Wikipedia; we are not responsible for the English Wikipedia.
  • Linking a username with a set of IP addresses may be a breach of the privacy policy; I am a CheckUser here, but since I have no idea where these IP addresses are from, I will neither confirm nor deny their validity.
  • We believe in second chances, we do not punish users here for things they did on other Wikipedias (with the possible exception of Cross-Wiki vandalism)
  • I think accusing someone of stalking is a Personal attack, unless it can be proved.

In the interest of helping this project, please focus on creating or improving articles; there is enough work to do here; you can probably do this without stepping on each other's foot. As to bad edits, please look at this discussion, I intend to use the system. That is to say, if one of you has been blocked on EnWP for at least a day in the last year, your second block will be 6 months. Thank you for your understanding. --Eptalon (talk) 12:41, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To address your points:
  • Links to en.wiki provided for context and background only
  • The IPs above are all linked on en.wiki to the user Tweety21; I did not even link Eastvillagegroupie (simple) to Tweety21 (en) until she did so herself. When she linked those two accounts, the IPs were linked as well (some of those had already been linked on simple by the user herself, diffs available on request).
  • As I mentioned above, I do not think Eastvillagegroupie should be punished on simple for anything she did on en. She should only be held accountable for her actions on simple (unless the rules change, of course).
  • The stalking claim is a well-worn one—it didn't hold any water on en and doesn't hold any water now.
  • my block log on enEastvillagegroupie (Tweety21)'s block log on en
I think my edits to simple and what I have already said on this page show you my intentions and point of view. I'd be happy to clarify if anyone has any questions. Precious Roy (talk) 14:44, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
After a long discussion, it now appears that nothing is wrong. What is the real thing going on behind this that needs attention? Chenzw  Talk  14:47, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Note: This has been moved to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Disputes. Do not continue the discussion over here. Thanks. Chenzw  Talk  14:53, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle

Regarding this, do you think there'd be any issue with creating the missing templates in my userspace first and then (upon community approval) we could move them into production? Also, can you tell me what PHP issues there are? (I'm pretty good with PHP, Perl, and Python) Thanks! :-) fr33kman t - c 20:48, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, the problem does not seem to be related to the MediaWiki core, but instead some issues with JavaScript, XML and possibly MediaWiki:Common.js and MediaWiki:Common.css. There won't be any issue creating the missing templates in your userspace, please feel free to do so! :) Chenzw  Talk  02:11, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ethan Usurped

I was glancing through new changes and clicked on http://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Ethan&redirect=no and was surprised it was a redirect to the usurped user's talk page. Should the redirect be deleted or blanked? I'm not familiar enough with usurp to say whether it should be either. Toliar (talk) 15:30, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. I have deleted it. Thanks for pointing that out. Chenzw  Talk  09:33, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Username change

Hi, I'm sorry. I'm new to Wikipedia, and I'm very confused. I had posted a username change request, Wikipedia:Changing username but you responded and said that I hadn't posted anything. Am I not posting in the correct spot? This is what I posted:

I am new to this site and would like to change my username User:Deviceanywhere to something closer to my email. I have checked, and this name: SpyGuy6789 is available, and I would like it changed to that name. I had originally chosen the original username for convenience of the entry I had posted, but since joining have realized you can have multiple entries posted to one name. So, hopefully this will clear up confusion on that entry. I hope I put this request in the correct section. Thanks for your help! (Deviceanywhere (talk) 08:24, 24 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]
