Hi, Cindy[change source]

This is my account. Write to me here if you have any questions.

Use four equal signs ⟨=⟩ like this == Hi there == at the top of your message. Mr Spear (talk) 11:45, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar[change source]

Tenses[change source]

In your messages here, you wrote

I add something.

and

I am writing something.

That means the first one is happening outside time (every day, every week, etc.) and the second one is happening at the same time that you are talking. The second one is OK but, really, you added something and then wrote some more in the article before you wrote that message. If your sister wrote one of the messages, she should use her own name and not use yours.  Mr Spear (talk) 08:28, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Be starting to do sth"[change source]

In your message here, you wrote

I am starting write something

That means you have two verbs together: am and write. What you really mean is "I am starting to write something". You start something, and "to write" or "writing" is the way to say 写 as a noun. — Mr Spear (talk) 13:41, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Using Wikipedia[change source]

Where "references" go[change source]

When you write on Wikipedia, it's good to use links to other good places (books, newspapers, websites) that show that what you're saying is true. Those are called references. They should go at the bottom of a page so, if you write new things on a page, you should put them above the part that says "References".  Mr Spear (talk) 08:28, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Explaining things[change source]

Remember that you should explain each food: what kind of thing is it? and how is it special? You can also add what people say its traditional Chinese medicine (中药) powers are, but (1) you do that after you finish talking about the food itself and (2) you really should have a reference that real TCM doctors really think that.  Mr Spear (talk) 08:28, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article names[change source]

You don't need to use "the" for most things[change source]

Here and here, you started pages with the names

The emperor of Ming Dynasty

and

The famous places in Shanghai

This isn't your fault. If you're using those names in a sentence, they would mostly look like that. It's different in an encyclopedia, though. When you're writing the title for something here, we don't use "The" or "A" unless it's the name of a book or movie or something like that. "The USA" is in an article called "United States"; "the PRC" is in an article called "People's Republic of China"; and "the Oriental Pearl Tower" should be Oriental Pearl Tower or TV Tower.

It's different for books and things where "the" is part of the name like The Nutcracker, The Big Bang Theory, The Cat in the Hat, and others. — Mr Spear (talk) 13:53, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need to put things together[change source]

You can put things together, if they're not important enough by themselves. 象 and 相 should be on a page about Chinese chess, not on different pages about each piece.

Zhu Yuanzhang is really important enough that he can have his own page. The Oriental Pearl Tower is important enough it can have its own page.

If you really want to put your writing together with Candy's writing, you can search for what you're writing about. "Zhu Yuanzhang" could go in the article about "Ming Dynasty" or "History of China". "Oriental Pearl Tower" could just go in "Shanghai" until you write so much that it needs to be in a different article by itself. — Mr Spear (talk) 14:13, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
