Do numbers for DYKs need to be added? They weren't added before the bots were doing it. Griffinofwales (talk) 00:36, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. In the interim, I'll just disable the updating of DYK. The number changes fairly often and probably isn't as interesting as the number of RfDs, P(V)GAs, ER, etc. EhJJTALK 01:15, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, DYK is just as important as any other - it helps us to see when we are starting to run out of hooks and need more. Please re-enable it. Ta. Goblin 13:30, 14 December 2009 (UTC) I ♥ GoblinBots![reply]
Getting it to work wasn't as hard as I'd thought. DYK should be updating again next time there is a change in the counts. EhJJTALK 00:08, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sections with more than 0 candidates in them should be bold, those with 0 shouldn't be.
  • Careful: GA/VGA candidates/demotions have a different layout.

Good idea?--Eptalon (talk) 22:26, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Certainly I can have the bot bold/unbold, but there isn't consensus for it... so to speak. I'll leave a note on the talk page and see if there are any objections. Also, I wanted the bot to remain compatible with GoblinBot5, although I think BG7 has decided to use that account for something else.
  2. The bot doesn't update demotions. I can add that ability, but it seems dGA/dVGA are rare.

Thanks for the suggestions. EhJJTALK 21:29, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Subpages[change source]

It would be nice to have the bots update subpages, so that we can fiddle around with the layout of RC as required, using them in the way of mw:Help:Magic Words. — μ 12:58, Saturday January 9 2010 (UTC)

That's certainly a possibility. I know {{totw}} was subpaged for a similar reason, and it would keep WP:RC's history from being "flooded" with bot changes. If people want to see counts in their histories, they can always watch the subpage. I'll look into doing that at the same time I add the bold feature requested above. PAD Nominations[change source]

The bot isn't detecting that there's a PAD nomination on Coffee. When I edited it manually, it undid me once Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 07:48, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The bot doesn't seem to be detecting that there is an active RfP. Kansan (talk) 04:42, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure that the reason for this is because {{WP:Requests for adminship/Kansan}} was transcluded as opposed to {{Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Kansan}}. I've fixed the transclusion on the main RfP page, so EhJBot3 should notice it now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Lauryn Dirty little secrets 04:47, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that would be why. I'll see if I can adjust the bot so it doesn't miss these in the future. EhJJTALK 12:58, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History of the United States' discussion is still running, last I checked. No one has changed it Purplebackpack89 18:12, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes a page will not load and the bot counts it as a zero. If I have time in the future, I will add some error handling to the bot so that it either skips the update or tries to load the page again. Right now, if an error occurs, it will most likely be fixed when the bot runs again in about 10 minutes. EhJJTALK 19:45, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New structure[change source]

Please update EhJbots to take into account the new structure of New changes. Then feel free to unblock the bot. Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 23:56, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
