Senator articles[change source]

Hello, Ehlla, and thanks for all the new articles about US Senators! They're a great addition to this project.

I would like to mention a couple of things:

  • Please try to use language that won't go out of date in the future. For example, in several of the senator articles you wrote something like "Tim Scott is the junior U.S. Senator from South Carolina." If either Senator Scott or the senior senator from South Carolina leaves office, that sentence would no longer be true. Instead, say something like, "On January 3, 2013, he became the junior U.S. Senator from South Carolina." That will be true no matter what happens to the SC senators. You can read more about this at Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Writing precisely. That guideline says to avoid language that will quickly go out of date, but on this Wiki we have so few people to keep things up to date and it's best to avoid language that will go out of date even farther in the future.
  • If you mention a person's religion, there should be a reference for it. That includes mentioning it in the article text, in an infobox, or in a category. You can read about this requirement at en:WP:CAT/R.

Thanks again for the articles. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about this. --Auntof6 (talk) 05:20, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioning a person's religion[change source]

Hello, Ehlla. Thanks for the new articles you have created. I noticed in several of the articles you created about senators, you mentioned their religion in the infobox, but did not include a reference. When you mention a person's religion, you must include a reference, as I mentioned above. You can read about this requirement at en:WP:CAT/R. If you include anything that says what a person's religion is, please make sure to have a reference for it. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 02:48, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ehlla, you are still including religion in new articles you create without giving sources for it. When you mention a person's religion in an article, whether it's in an infobox, in the text, or in a category, you must give a source for it. Religion is one of the things that must have a source because it can be either controversial or personal, and Wikipedia can get into legal trouble if we say certain things without having a source for them. (Some of the other things are sexual preference and criminal history.) Please include a source when you mention a person's religion. If you don't have a source, then don't mention the religion. This is very important. If you continue including religion in articles without including sources for it, you may be blocked from editing here. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about this. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 05:39, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are still including mention of people's religion without having any sources for it. Please stop doing that. When you mention a person's religion, you must have a source for it. If you continue doing this, you will be blocked from editing here. --Auntof6 (talk) 23:45, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are still including mention of people's religion in articles without having a source for it. It also doesn't help that you don't respond to these messages on your talk page. This is your last warning. If you do this again, you will be blocked from changing Wikipedia. --Auntof6 (talk) 03:37, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from changing Wikipedia for 48 hours for continuing to include unsourced mention of people's religion after several explanations that this info must have a reference.

Once the block has ended you can make helpful changes. Please read Wikipedia's blocking policy and remember that adding spam, making changes that do not have a neutral point of view, making personal attacks on others, not respecting other people's privacy, and vandalizing pages are not allowed. If you do any of these things, you will be blocked again.

If you think this block is unfair, you can ask to be unblocked by adding {{Unblock|your reason here}} below. If you cannot do this or the reason is private please send an e-mail to simple-admins-l@lists.wikimedia.org and an administrator will look at your reason and reply. You may want to read our guide to unblock requests before asking to be unblocked. Auntof6 (talk) 02:52, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

March 2018[change source]

Hello! Thank you for creating Category:Ukrainian culture. However, we normally need at least three pages in a category before it is created. Because categories are a way to group together similar articles, there is no need to create a new category for just one or two articles. If you think there might be more pages to add to the new category, please add them now. Thank you. Auntof6 (talk) 12:41, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
