Christopher Plummer question

Hey Eptalon! I was fixing up Christopher Plummer's article for a VGA nomination, but something tells me it might be better as a GA. When I look at what I did, it was mostly GA-related. GA's are easier to do, they are less work (main thing about VGAs is completeness; also I think the last demotion from VGA I did was because of red-links in some template). But if I look at the whole thing, I have been the only one promoting/demoting articles recently. Whats what "community" stands for. As to the article: I didn't have a through looks: Looks fairly redlink free, sections look like they have a decent length. SO try either. BTW: I really want to add comments about the VGA nominations. Hello, i see you deleted the page Devlaisim. You should know, I didn't want that this page are deleted, but the User@Fixing26 nominated it for Quick deletion A4. That's why I was forced to blank the page. This Article, was an interesting contribution about the culture of the roma people. I was horrified that this page was suggested to be Quick deletion.

It gives me the impression that certain people are undesirable here...isnt it?

Assistance

Hey Eptalon - So I got a lot of errors off of the article African Americans, however, there is still an issue causing it to come up in CS1 Maintenance. This is the section and the error is for [:Category:CS1_maint:_extra_text:_authors_list]. I cannot seem to find it and my eyes are going buggy after staring at it. Hello, I am sorry to see that another admin deleted the page. I have to say though that proposing a page for deltion that is a contested quick-deletion is stanard procedure. This is an encyclopedia, it is not about winning or losing an argument. Also note that we don't have article ownership. I have probably created several articles in my time here. None of them "belongs to me". I may feel responsible for some, but again, I try to create an encyclopedia. Part of this process is to find that certain subjects do not (yet?) meet the requiremnts we have for inclusion. I am very sorry that you lost your work, but it wasn't my decision to delete. I can't and wont change your decision; I would just like to point out that we had a similar issue recently, with LGBT-related topics. AC Error

Hey - I’m pretty sure I’ve figured this out but I wanted to run it by you first to see if I’m correct or not. On the page John Everett Millais there are piped items added onto the AC. When I pull up the preview it tells me which ones they are and that they should be moved to WikiData. So I’m thinking I just need to cut and paste those items into the appropriate Q whatever number for him and remove them from the article itself and that should clear that out. In the cat itself there are a few and I can get those fixed pretty fast if that is indeed the fix. Thanks for any assistance you can help with as always! PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? Reading Fra Angelico, I did like this treasure. After saying "The convent had a very wealthy "patron of the arts" called Cosimo de' Medici who loved to buy works of art for himself and his favourite churches".

The editor then says "Cosimo took the largest of the friars' rooms, called cells, at the convent so that he could have a quiet place for religious thought". (!!)

Perish the thought that it might be because he was a rich & powerful bastard...

If they are not yet in thegrammar article, they are certainly helpful there. As to whether to also have them in the main article, I don't know. Its certainly interesting to see how verbs and adverbs work in Interlingue. en:French_language has such tables in the Grammar section, our article doesn't. Without going into too much detail, it looks ok for now. As a quick tip: If you target the "Very good article", I'd first go for the good article. Looking at the process, I have promoted a few articles to good article status this year. The last promotion to VGA was in August 2020, a year ago. If i read the page, I find the dates 1710-1780 (assumed to be Anno Domini, the count where we are currently at 2021). Hello, i want to let you know that Mizanur Rahman Azhari was created again as Mizanur Rahman (Bangladeshi Islamic Preacher). It was deleted several times here and even on enwiki. You even SALT the article (enwiki also did the same). It probably quality as wp:SPEEDY. I'm not familiar with this wiki, i will leave it to you to decide. The most recent articles he vandalized on 23 September are Israel, Baklava, Pita, Republic of Artsakh, Kadaif and Dolma. The other articles he vandalizes with POV pushing: Flag, Tricolour, Doner kebab, Yogurt, Country, Azerbaijan, and Shambali, will very likely follow.

User:My name is CJ who is the same IP 212.108.146.62/185.135.96.2 who was warned numerous times and temporarily blocked a few times for vandalism by the administrators, is vandalizing the same articles in the same pattern under his/her new account which he/she opened on October 1, by erasing NPOV content, also sources, and is replacing them with nationalistic POV content. This person will continue with his/her disruptive edits, despite being warned and temporarily blocked as an IP user.

Nothing will stop and deter this person, unless these articles that are vandalized are temporarily protected and he/she is temporarily blocked for a much longer period.

Hello Darkfrog24, thanks ofr getting back to me. When I picked the articles to submit, I chose ones that, in my view are important; I know that most cover controversial topics, or topics people usually don't talk about. I also do not believe in word lists, as they are too limiting, and in many cases, they do not allow to explain the subject well. Translating some of the pages took a long time, and was not an easy task. So, when you come up with a comment such as "English is too complex", when I spent days working on the formulations/translation, this does not motivate me. In the case of the article I flagged as "biased": The EnWP version of this was last edited half a year ago, and really reads like an ad; I also left a comment on the EnWP article TP (now a month ago), but I haven't seen any reaction, so far. No matter what the intent of the Edit-a-thon is: If a quick search doesn't reveal any viable sources, what am I to do? - I find the contest a nice idea, it obviously has its limitations. --Eptalon (talk) 10:18, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cape Kidnappers / Te Kauwae-a-Māui is a headland at the southeastern extremity of Hawke's Bay on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island and sits at the end of an 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) peninsula which protrudes into the Pacific Ocean. It is 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-east of the city of Napier. Access to the Cape by road stops at Clifton, which is the departure point for many tourists. May I ask if you have heard of - and know the name - of the following local custom (or custom in a "smallish" region) in Germany: When workers and other busy people are having their lunch break (or equivalent), and a co-worker comes into the room, then he will not speak to the other co-workers but he will knock cirka two times on the table, whereby the persons who are sitting and eating - will knock on the table (as a reply).

(If you, Eptalon, are not sure, then I will probably ask on English-wiki. Comment: I have seen this greeting one time, among Germans (in a non-German country). The custom was explained to me as being from Germany - also with the comment that in most (or some) places in Germany - that greeting would be interpreted as barely tolerable, or not acceptable (because speaking to people is generally the preferred way of doing things). William Morrison (23 August 1855 – 29 August 1927) was a Scottish chemist. His background in chemistry piqued his interest in improving storage batteries. He concentrated on how to produce the most available energy for a unit of weight for efficiency in the working of an individual battery cell. Eventually, he developed storage batteries far more powerful than what had then been available. To demonstrate his batteries, Morrison installed 24 of them on a common horse-drawn carriage and attached an electric motor to the rear axle to be powered by them. Through various innovations, he developed the controls for the power used and the vehicle's steering so that the driver had complete control. Morrison invented the first practical self-powered four-wheeled electric carriage in the United States. His electric vehicle was the first to be driven in Chicago and in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. This electric horseless buggy of the late 19th century helped pave the way for the hybrid electric automobile of the 21st century.

As disambiguation pages: There is en:Mitchell Docker, a cyclist born 1986, and the ominous dockworker; there are several places, a few sports teams, and a brand used for clothing. The term "stevedore" is quite foreign to English usage. Because of the range of the old British Empire, the term "docker" is understood all over the eastern world as well.
