Questions to create articles/page[change source]

I can create a page called: 'Rusrdanbis Alliance'?. Rusrdanbis Alliance (talk) 17:15, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rusrdanbis Alliance, creating articles on topics you have conflicts of interest with is strongly discouraged, and therefore I am unable to help you with creating this article. --Ferien (talk) 22:18, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Peanut stew[change source]

Could you have a look at User:Rathfelder/Sandbox/Peanut stew when you have a moment and tell me whether you think it is simple enough to be published? Or if not advice would be welcome. Rathfelder (talk) 17:37, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rathfelder, yup, that's great, I have no issues with that being published. There are a few little things I'd change like It has been described as one of the national dishes of The Gambia. to It is one of the national dishes of The Gambia. (or even the national dish of the Gambia), per w:National dish#G and maybe trying to use a different word other than commercially at the start but those are just minor issues. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:39, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. Rathfelder (talk) 17:44, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Rathfelder If I may, it actually sounds really good. Have you had it before? One thing I did notice is you bolded the second using of Peanut Stew. It should only be bolded when it’s first used per Wikipedia:Manual of Style#First sentence. Thanks - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 23:20, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That was an accident! Rathfelder (talk) 13:14, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Thanks - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 13:51, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All done[change source]

Hey Ferien - on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Protection request for multiple pages I was able to get them all back in order and corrected. They obviously are stubs but the bones are back to the way they should be and all of the CAPS have been removed from fire engine. Thanks for your help even though there is still some subtle vandalism (exact same thing from before) but on a different range (of which I emailed you). Thanks - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 23:15, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article[change source]

Hi Ferien, I think there were one or two articles that may have been wrongly tagged for QD around 03:00-07:00 UTC, 26 March. They may have been tagged as test pages with an explanation which didn't seem to qualify. They may have been among the articles deleted by Macdonald-ross from 07:08-07:34. Could you please review these deleted pages? Sorry, I have forgot the specifics. Kk.urban (talk) 15:41, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kk.urban, thanks for the message. I've just restored US Airways Group, as it's definitely not a test page and has the potential to become an acceptable article. Invasion of the Waikato also technically isn't eligible, but I'm not sure what I'll be able to get from that. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 15:46, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, was X-Men '97 a test page? Kk.urban (talk) 15:48, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kk.urban: No, it was not. Restored, thanks. --Ferien (talk) 15:50, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Kk.urban (talk) 15:50, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GA closures[change source]

Hi! I just wanted to check that I hadn't misunderstood how the PGA closures work. I couldn't find any info pages on what the rules are. Did I do something wrong for this? Happy to do it differently in future if it's wrong. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 19:28, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lee Vilenski, hey, usually admins do the PGA closures, so I did revert that edit, but then noticed this hasn't happened as much lately, and we don't have any rules that say it needs to be an admin who closes it. There's nothing wrong with your closure beyond that. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 20:28, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ah, that makes sense. I did have a check to see if it was a requirement and couldn't find much, and the two before that one was non-admin so didn't realise it was a sysop item. Have a great day. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:32, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Lee Vilenski, you too, sorry for the confusion! --Ferien (talk) 20:32, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For clarification, are non-admins allowed to close these, or is it admin-only? I ask as a non-admin who has closed a few before. QuicoleJR (talk) 14:26, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferien: It looks like you missed my question. QuicoleJR (talk) 21:11, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I hadn't looked at my talk page at all from when you sent that first message until now, and that's my bad. There's no rule against non-admins closing PGAs. They are usually done by admins though. I don't know whether it'd be worth a discussion. --Ferien (talk) 21:12, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

redirect[change source]

Hi, about this, apart from the hoax insertion, the content was mostly a copy paste from this page: [21] so that page history is filled with copyright violations, both copyvio and BLP issues would be good reasons to "first delete and then redirect" imo. And it was eligible for a G5 QD in the first place anyway. Tehonk (talk) 12:45, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tehonk, ok, I've deleted those revisions from the history. G5 is still relatively new here, so we occasionally don't use it, especially when an article is already at RfD. If the copyright violations had been pointed out prior to/during the RfD, the article would already have been deleted per G12, but no-one pointed it out until now. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 21:17, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You were always a good editor and you became an admin and crat while I was away and we need more like you that are active and are appreciated by everyone for being level headed, make sense of things and do a lot of good work. The dwarf planets[change source]

Those little planets that an IP created is back and recreated them including removing the redirect you made on 1 Ceres. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 22:49, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
