Welcome[change source]

Hello, IanP, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia!

You may want to begin by reading these pages :

For some ideas of pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

You can change any pages you want! Any changes you make can be seen immediately. You can ask questions at Wikipedia:Simple talk. At the end of your messages on talk pages, please sign your name by typing "~~~~" (four tildes)

Good luck and happy changing! P.S. One of the links in my signature has links to science articles that aren't created yet. You can work on them. Just don't copy from the other Wikipedia! --Chemicalinterest (talk) 02:07, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I already know the rules. I've read them on the regular Wikipedia. I just got indefinitely blocked on there so I'm trying to make a good impression here. Warrior (talk) 02:09, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We are a little different here; many of the rules are simpler. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 02:10, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok then, but they are basically the same but simpler? Like, I know the basic ones. No vandalism and whatnot. Warrior (talk) 02:11, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Dawning of a New Era in Wikipedia[change source]

Hi! --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:12, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by a new era? Warrior (talk) 02:30, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It means that you're starting over. You don't have to worry about everything that happened on the other Wikipedia and you can just start over and concentrate on making a good impression here. Kansan (talk) 02:36, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. I was crying when I found out I was indefinitely blocked. Check my talk page on that for details. It's a sort of cause and effect thing. Warrior (talk) 02:38, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've only been a user on that one for about a month. Warrior (talk) 02:41, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sadness[change source]

I just think that the INDEF block is a bit much...I think only a few days would work....Demiurge could you please propose that please? I am starting to think that on the other one I'm useless. I am just so sad. I will miss Mono. Warrior (talk) 03:58, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The other one can be difficult to deal with. Chemicalinterest is in High School but he still prefers it here rather than on the other Wikipedia --Demiurge1000 (talk) 04:01, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm used to it. Tell them I'll make some articles here and I'll make sure that they are decent and simple. I'll make it till autoconfirmed, how about that? Blocked until Autocomfirmed on Simple Wikipedia. I'll add 1 extra day. How do you think that sounds? Warrior (talk) 04:04, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that will work. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 04:20, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well then I'll just have to say goodbye forever to Wikipedia, English, or prepare for a year away. Not Simple. Warrior (talk) 04:25, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Forest of Secrets article - a couple of ideas[change source]

You could try adding one or two categories to the end of the Forest of Secrets article. Check out the categories for the other books in the series for ideas.

Also, a bit more complex, you could try adding a book infobox for the article, like some of the other articles in the series have.

--Demiurge1000 (talk) 03:52, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New article; Rising Storm[change source]

I have created Rising Storm (Warriors). Warrior (talk) 04:27, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a category. This Wikipedia has much simpler categories than English Wikipedia. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 11:59, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here at Simple English Wikipedia, we have a policy pertaining to indefinitely blocked users on English Wikipedia. There are no second chances, and they must be here to edit constructively. I advise that you pay attention to writing quality articles, and not to user or user talk pages, otherwise, you will find yourself blocked. Keep that in mind. Griffinofwales (talk) 04:47, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, just please leave me alone. I'm trying to remember the plotline of A Dangerous Path. Warrior (talk) 04:48, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like your headed down the right track. I would keep a low profile for now if I were you. Inka 888 (talk) 05:46, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a start at WikiProject Warriors. Loudclaw (talk) 08:15, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, and welcome to Simple English Wikipedia :). According to this policy, wiki projects are suppose to be in User main space. If you did not know this, or you created it in the mainspace by mistake, it is ok because it can easily be moved to the correct place :). I wanted to let you know first before I move it because I do think you have the ability to move pages yet.wiooiw (talk) 08:26, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't. Thanks. Loudclaw (talk) 08:35, 25 November 2010 (UTC) I do in the big one but I'm indef blocked there. Loudclaw (talk) 08:35, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, PEOPLE! Loudclaw (talk) 10:00, 25 November 2010 (UTC) hawaiian[reply]

Please stop MySpacing, this is exactly why you were blocked on the English Wikipedia, there is no reason to edit your talk page every minute as a means to countdown to an event. Actually try and do something useful. I apologise if this message strikes you as crude, but you really aren't making things better for yourself on this wiki in doing such things. Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм Champagne? 10:20, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm crazy. now good night. Loudclaw (talk) 11:14, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. There is a link on the left side that says "New changes". People check that all the time and see all of what you and everyone else here are doing. You don't have to write it on your talk page. If you want to, you can create User:IanP/Articles I created and just write the articles you made in there.

Also, people can look at your Special:Contributions/IanP (in "User's changes" on the toolbox on the left column) and see everything you've done too.

So there is no need to say anything on your page because people can see what you've done already!

Try to edit more in articles than in talk pages.

Chemicalinterest (talk) 12:04, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Email me using this link if you want to chat; then people won't complain as much. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 12:12, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a few Warriors articles, maybe you could work on them? Access Denied (talk) 16:44, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption[change source]

I saw your talk page post about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption needing to be expanded. I'm glad you noticed that; perhaps you could try expanding it if get the chance? Kansan (talk) 01:19, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's the same for all of the articles on it. Loudclaw (talk) 01:20, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded with help from the main Wikipedia; but I simplified and when there were words that HAD to be there, I explained it. Loudclaw (talk) 01:49, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[change source]

You are talking too much on talk pages again. Please do not talk on talk pages so much before some less merciful user comes around and uses a certain tool on you. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 23:27, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Only email me if you want to send some chat: I do not mind getting 5 emails a day. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 23:29, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a notice- It may seem like I'm sockpuppeting on the BEWP, but I'm unifying my global accounts. That IanP in the other one will be for public. Loudclaw (talk) 10:12, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey....I'm increasing WP's coverage of Warriors articles! Loudclaw (talk) 20:22, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Everyone sees that already in special:contributions/IanP and special:recentchanges; again, there is no need to say it on your talk page. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 11:44, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, IanP (or, if you wish, Loudclaw)! :) Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia. I'm glad to see another new editor around here. I just answered your question on Simple Talk; I hope it helped. If you wanted, I could just copy out the invitation you type manually and paste it into your userspace for you. But I think you'd know how to do it already. Well, ask me if you have any other questions; I usually check my wiki at least once a day, so I'll be able to answer them. ingly, Bella tête-à-tête 00:55, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Testing out a template[change source]

Hi! I noticed that you edited an article that's in our scope and I was wondering if you were interested in Warriors. I thought, well, maybe that person is interested in WikiProject Warriors! There's a link here, and you can join if you like. It'll have links to every Warriors article that need to be fixed and there's a LOT in there. I haven't gotten arrant to finishing it yet so I would accept your help in it. It covers all articles about the series Warriors and so it is very easy to do. Thanks! Talkback and warning[change source]

Hello, IanP. You have new messages at Bluegoblin7's talk page.
You may take off this notice at any time by getting rid of the the {{Talkback}} or {{newmessages}} template.

Please do not add spam links to websites. Wikipedia is not an advertising service. You are, however, encouraged to add information instead of links to the encyclopedia. If you think the links you recently added should be added to an article, please discuss this on an article's talk page. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thanks.

This is your only warning following the topic being raised elsewhere. Goblin 14:44, 18 January 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Clementina![reply]

Invitation[change source]

Thank you for the invite but I must decline as I'm not familiar with the series. Kansan (talk) 14:47, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is continually further proving my point! Goblin 15:00, 18 January 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Barras![reply]

Warning[change source]

Please do not publicly accuse other users of sockpuppetry. It can make users feel very uncomfortable, and goes against assuming good faith. Also, the first name that you mentioned is a very common first name, and there's no reason to think that there's only one person with that name editing Wikipedia. Kansan (talk) 19:23, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'll only do it if there's proof from now on then. I'll see if there's any more trouble around. *opens recent changes box* Loudclaw (talk) 22:08, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Simplifying contractions[change source]

For right now I am going through a database dump and as result will not be working on the new pages. This should give you a chance to simplify contractions on newer pages. Happy editing, MorganKevinJ(talk) 01:25, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't adopt him over at Simple because I don't check in often. Ian, I continue to see stuff like this which is why you were blocked below. Not only those, but all sorts of stuff. Like crackers. It also causes cancer. Well, it can. I've eaten loads of Cheez-Its and they have MSGs, and I don't have cancer. Loudclaw (talk) 20:36, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The above diffs are not going to help your case and you will be blocked again if you continue to disrupt Wikipedia as you had previously and are now doing again. Tread carefully. Goblin 21:38, 3 February 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Clementina![reply]

When I suggest that you stop and be careful I do actually mean it, I don't say it just for the sake of it. [4] and [5], with [6] also being of concern to an extent (Blocks are nothing to be proud of, you clearly don't understand the reasons that you were blocked...). The edit summary of [7] was also completely uneccessary, though the post itself was somewhat useful. Goblin 23:03, 3 February 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Bsadowski1![reply]

Yes, I do understand.I've been looking into it, and I'm just trying to help. I really just want to help people, and when I was talking about a block on Sam's page I was referring to my en one. I wanted to help him, and I am not trying to get myself re blocked. I was blocked because I was spamming, had a parody for my visible name, and I also kind of disrupted the project. I'm sorry, Loudclaw (talk) 00:23, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That was good how you caught that vandalism on Groundhog, though. Keep that kind of stuff up - we need good editors who can find and correct vandalism (and warn users like how you did). Kansan (talk) 00:48, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'm checking certain pages every once in a while so I can make them good. Loudclaw (talk) 21:47, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While I understand that blocks and abuse of multiple accounts on other wikis do not carry over, I believe it necessary to point out that IanP (Ian.bjorn (talk · contribs) on en) is a confirmed sockpuppeteer. Apparently he's come over here under the same account: Erik.leif (talk · contribs). If I'm not mistaken, this can be considered inappropriate use of an alternative account. Goodvac (talk) 22:30, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK wait. That's MY BROTHER'S account. I only use this one. I'm NOT a sockpuppeteer. I DO NOT sockpuppet. Oh, NOW I know why Erik said "they hated him". You blocked him because of a little thing of family. I know. The same IP. We're kids. We live under the same roof. Loudclaw (talk) 22:49, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While I want to believe you, you are using the WP:LITTLEBROTHER excuse. Goodvac (talk) 22:53, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey. It's not a lie. I specifically stated on his talk page that we're brothers. I didn't make him up. Please, I don't want to get blocked here as well for no reason. He's 9. I'm 12. (I wouldn't be posting this information if it wouldn't help.) I'm telling the truth. If I get blocked, it'll be MY word against YOURS. So I guess me telling him about Simple has led to this incident.....Loudclaw (talk) 23:02, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My word has nothing to do with this incident. A question about Erik.leif: how did he learn to install and use Twinkle and Hotcat? Goodvac (talk) 23:23, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
WHAT? Ok, now I have to get after him. That's very surprising. I've got no idea how he did that. I never taught him. He must have figured it out for himself. I asked for help. Besides, I edit good edits. I do not edit bad. It's very strange. I'll have to talk to him about it. I swear that I never saw him install TW and HC. Loudclaw (talk) 23:41, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, whatever. Stuff that happens on en shouldn't carry over, so I'll leave it at that, but you will be under close scrutiny here. Goodvac (talk) 23:47, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I guess I understand. Loudclaw (talk) 23:50, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed that most of your recent posts have been comments on different people's talk page, most of which doesn't have much to do with improving the encyclopedia. Remember that you were blocked for this type of behavior on English and on here, and that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a chat website. Kansan (talk) 06:04, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All right.. But I am wondering, how are you active and yet have that cyan highlight on your user talk link? Loudclaw (talk) 06:09, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's admin highlighting, which tells you who is and isn't an admin. Kansan (talk) 06:19, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Thanks for the information. Loudclaw (talk) 02:18, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree[change source]

Hey, I'm not sure the Mr. Berty block was fair. I mean, can you NAME any of his socks? if you can't then he's innocent. If you can then think. Does he have ANY family that lives with him? If so, does any of them have a Wikipedia account? Remember, I, on en (as an example), have been blocked first for disrupting the wiki and second my chance to get back on was screwed by the fact that my brother, who lives with me and my family, vandalized under HIS account and CUs saw that it was the exact IP I usually edit from. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors 03:59, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As stated on his talk page, Mr. Berty was blocked because of checkuser evidence. If there was no indication of abuse, there would have been no reason to block him. He already had a history with sockpupperty on en (which he has also admitted doing), so the argument that a family member was involved would not be convincing. wiooiw (talk) 04:16, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
O......k. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors 05:45, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. I once used my old account and overreacted on his talk page, creating a section called "YOU ARE A SOCKPUPPET!!!" but because simple has a one-strike-rule for blocked users on en, and CheckUser evidence showed that he abusively used accounts here, unless he gets a standard offer or speaks another language, he probably won't return, IMO. --Highspeedrailguy (talk) 15:51, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Firestar's Quest[change source]

Note: I am User:Highspeedrailguy renamed.

Eh, here are some problems in Firestar's Quest (Warriors):

  • "All seems well in the land...": too book-review-ish
  • "...ThunderClan, is proud that the Clans are at peace and thriving..." you're not supposed to be storytelling–and who wrote this book? You need to tell the reader who wrote this book, too.
  • Wikify, copyedit, add an infobox to the article.
  • "Soon, It's a..." use correct capitalization.
  • They're more, though I am busy IRL. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 17:57, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The reasons you posted on the talk page aren't related. The list of characters is non-notable and is original research. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 21:54, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not Original Research! I read the book, and as I did, I read up their personalities. I'm not trying to violate OR! And I never did!
I know that you are not intentionally violating the original research policy. Wikipedia:No original research states, "Wikipedia is not the place to publish your own opinions, experiences, arguments, or conclusions." Basically, you cannot add something to an article without citing a reliable source. Goodvac (talk) 22:04, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think I should have cited my book (copy). Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:14, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There are many policies on this site that you have yet to learn. Citing the book would violate Wikipedia:Reliable sources: "Wikipedia articles should use reliable, third-party, published sources". The book is not a third-party source (independent of the subject); it is a primary source, which cannot be used. Reviews discussing the book would be fine to source the article. Goodvac (talk) 22:20, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is an okay source, though it is unreliable. However, this can be used as a source as it is an interview that is not the book itself. Good luck. (I'm not good at wording this) --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 22:34, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks but I already moved it. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:37, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Er...can I get permission to edit that page please now? --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 22:41, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In response to this comment ("nobody will have any rights to delete it because of my userspace rules"), people will have the right to delete it according to Wikipedia:User page#Copies of other pages. Please keep this in mind. Goodvac (talk) 22:41, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I meant that nobody can delete it as long as it is being IMPROVED. It's no copy. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:45, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Admins have the right to delete it, still, FYI. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 22:46, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"It's no copy" The section does not include only duplicate pages: "[Userspace] is not meant to keep your version of disputed or previously deleted content forever. In other words, Wikipedia is not a free web host. Private copies of pages that are being used only for long-term archival purposes may be deleted". Goodvac (talk) 22:49, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In other words, get it done, then move it out to article space, like I did with Nikolayevsk Incident. Also, read this. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 22:50, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, I'd better get a team of people on it! Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:57, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know Brambleclawx and PrincessofLlyr could help. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 22:58, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Remember to add references that are not actually the book–such as online interviews. --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 14:33, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comments in articles[change source]

Please do not hold conversations/leave comments in articles like this. If you have something to say to an editor, talk to them on their talk page. Either way (talk) 01:35, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Then why did they make the hidden comment function? Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:12, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The hidden contact function is more for leaving general notes for editors in the future. If many people keep making the same wrong change to an article in good faith, you can leave a note there telling people not to. Kansan (talk) 22:14, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. Thanks. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:16, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...will be in the "conference room" soon. I'll try to get his attention! --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 12:07, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, for your confirmation, it is me on that wiki! --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 12:13, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
One or both of you have been warned about this before. If a user has been banned or blocked here, leave it to the administrators if they wish to be unblocked. It is not any of either of yours business to sort it out, and can be seen as project disruption here if you persist, which is a blockable offence. I note also that both of you are already on warnings for a number of different reasons. Cut it out. Goblin 12:15, 8 April 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Microchip08![reply]
Okay, okay! --SEPTActaMTA8235 (talk) 12:17, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We're talking about his actions on Samswiki, not here, on my conference desk over there. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 21:02, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Then talk about them over here. You've definitely been warned about discussing other, non Wikimedia Foundation wikis on here before. STOP. Goblin 21:07, 8 April 2011 (UTC) I ♥ Juliancolton![reply]
All right, I was just checking the discussion when I saw new messages. (@ SEPTA) Please don't tell me about that stuff here; I've been on there for quite a while. Do it on my talk page over there. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 21:10, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For some reason, I'm at my home, but I'm under a different IP! Weird......Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 21:09, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps your IP changed. --SEPTActaMTA8235 21:20, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I guess. Meet me you-know-where. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:41, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Archives[change source]

You should not configure one's talk page archiving without asking. I will undo it. --SEPTActaMTA8235 11:39, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One can decide what to do /w their tp. I'm archiving them manually every two days–I don't need a bot. And bots are evil. Thanks, but I don't want—or need it. --SEPTActaMTA8235 11:48, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever. Loudclaw/Hey, let's collaborate!/Desk/WP:Warriors/My changes 22:20, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
