This page just was created:

Kmz is the maximum!

Running like an empty butterfly, switch a carot and a pea, crush bald trumps and stab an elephant with a nostril.

It was officially the biggest nonsense I have ever seen! Mighty Wodan (talk) 09:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful[change source]

Please be careful when redirecting pages. Frisia has its' own article on the English Wikipedia, so it should have its' own article here. Redirecting that page to Frisians, when the article Frisians is already a redirect creates a double redirect, which is something that we strive to avoid here. I've already corrected the mistakes. Hope this helps :) Razorflame 15:57, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I've finished. Cheers, Razorflame 06:54, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! That was very quick! -'J. B. A. Evháh'- (talk) 07:05, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since you seem to have intended to nominate an image for DYK along with your hook, I've taken the liberty of amending your nomination. Of course, if this isn't what you wanted, feel free to undo it.  ;) --Philosopher Let us reason together. 19:55, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man! That was exactly what I wanted! Since there has already been some "reviews" I guess someone will be adding it soon to the "Next Update". It can't be me, though, but perhaps you or BlueGoblin could put it on the next update page along with the image? I'm afraid it'll expire, otherwise! J. B. A. (talk) 06:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If someone "expires" it, drop me a note and I'll go harass them for you.  ;) I'm not going to add it to Next Update, though, because I reviewed it - and have therefore expressed a bias with respect to its nomination. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 02:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I get it. Will it be on the Next Update with, or without the image, btw? Anywayz, thanks for your help. Maybe I'll go reviewing other DYK's later on, when I'm more expierenced. I kinda like the process. ;) J. B. A. (talk) 06:34, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I encourage you to continue to contribute. FYI - Goblin's added your hook to T:DYK/N, which means it will appear on the main page as soon as we have 5 hooks ready! --Philosopher Let us reason together. 21:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

King's Cross DYK[change source]

Thank you for your interest in the article of King's Cross station. It does meet the DYK criteria except for one thing. We require a citation to establish that the station was opened in 1852. Can you please find such a reference? Pmlinediter  Talk 07:56, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll add it right away! J. B. A. (talk) 08:03, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! And it was I who started the article. Pmlinediter  Talk 08:11, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just noticed you started it! (watched the history)... well done, two DYK articles already, you're doing fine aren't you? I hope you like the article now. J. B. A. (talk) 08:13, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Great job in improving the article. Look forward to taking it to VGA. Cheers! Pmlinediter  Talk 08:14, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are taking it to VGA? Well, I am thinking of getting Wijerd Jelckama there. We could wait until they both appear as DYK's on the main page, then we could both go for GA together. I think you'll need to expand the article a little bit before it can pass GA. You could write about it's role in popular culture (Harry Potter books and films for example). Use google and wikipedia (en) and be done in no time comrade! J. B. A. (talk) 08:17, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, absolutely, I'll improve the article and expand it before taking it to VGA or even GA. On another note, can you please verify my previous hook related to Google? Thanks, Pmlinediter  Talk 08:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look into it, okay. But I don't think one user can have more then one hook at the same time on the main page. Let's leave this one to the administrators. :) J. B. A. (talk) 08:22, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, then. Let's see what the sysops think of it. Cheers, Pmlinediter  Talk 08:26, 19 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]

On a related note to this hook, please stop moving hooks to the DYK next update until they are approved by more than just you. You expanded the article, then moved it to the DYK next update. If you make the major contributions to the article, you should be waiting for others to move it. This is not the first time you've been asked to watch your updates, so please wait next time. Either way (talk) 10:08, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did not make the article. I was asked to help someone out so I did. When it met all the criteria, I placed it in the Next Update, and removed it from the nomination page. J. B. A. (talk) 10:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You significantly expanded it though. Because of that major contribution, you should wait for others to approve the hook. Either way (talk) 10:15, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Look, DYK is really half dead round here. We don't need any more disputes related to it. Do we want it to die? Pmlinediter  Talk 10:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You are right about the fact that J.B.A. wasn't supposed to move it though. Cheers, Pmlinediter  Talk 10:17, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is nothing about making it "die." It's about following process for the sake of accuracy and transparency. Either way (talk) 10:27, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[change source]

This is not a valid use of rollback. Please only use it for reverting vandalism. Use the "Undo" feature as you may give a reason with that tool, and cannot with rollback. Thanks, Kennedy (talk) 13:08, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying it out! J. B. A. (talk) 13:08, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To try out rollback, go Wikipedia:Rollback_feature/Testing_ground. Also read WP:ROLL. Cheers, Pmlinediter  Talk 13:10, 20 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]
(e/c)See Wikipedia:Rollback#Testing_rollback Kennedy (talk) 13:11, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, fwiw, rollback can be used for anything in one's own userspace. PeterSymonds (talk) 13:12, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Rollback#Testing_rollback says "Please do not test on other people's edits" Kennedy (talk) 13:16, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My point is that, although misjudged, the use of rollback in his own userspace, for whatever reason, is allowed by policy. PeterSymonds (talk) 13:17, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But anyway, I see no reason to start rolling back my edits in his talk page (even if it is allowed by policy) when there is a testing ground. And I see no point of a 'crat and a sysop quarreling over that. Cheers, Pmlinediter  Talk 13:20, 20 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]
(e/c)How so? Could you show me the part of a policy that states that? I have provided the policy on rollback, which states that it should not be used on other peoples edits, so even though it was in his userspace, rollback should not have been used. Kennedy (talk) 13:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, Pmlinediter, no quarrel. Just a difference of opinion. :) Kennedy (talk) 13:23, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
'Kay. To PeterSymonds: I don't know about en, but here at Simple, no part of WP:ROLL states that such reverts are allowed. Pmlinediter  Talk 13:24, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh, whatever. Move on. PeterSymonds (talk) 13:27, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll try that. J. B. A. (talk) 13:11, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[change source]

You recently moved your userpage to User:J. B. A., saying "like that name better". I've undone the move, as that's not the proper way to rename yourself. Please see Wikipedia:Changing username for how to rename your account. EVula // talk // // 14:24, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I made the request could you please rename my account now? J. B. A. (talk) 14:31, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a bureaucrat on the English Wikipedia, but not here, so I can't perform the rename. Sorry. EVula // talk // // 14:38, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps someone else can. I can be patient, no problem. J. B. A. (talk) 14:41, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, right now, the only thing holding you back is the SUL toolserver being down, so the 'crats can't check sulutil:Mighty Wodan. EVula // talk // // 14:46, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you take a look, again? Pmlinediter  Talk 09:48, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, looks good to me. I'll reply at DYK. Now let this be the last DYK hook you come up with, for now, before we have 20 hooks who have to be "on the Next Update". Let's wait until the main page is updated shall we? Mighty Wodan (talk) 09:53, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We need 5 hooks in the backlog for the Main Page to be updated and I will try to find just one more to persuade the sysops to do it. Pmlinediter  Talk 09:54, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. But aren't you just a little bit over enthusiastic? We can't expect the sysops to suddenly change the policy because of two (relatively) new users? They said saturday, I think they'll stick to it. Mighty Wodan (talk) 09:59, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Did I even hint that I want the sysops to change policy? Today is Friday, right? And they'll update Saturday. So, we'll have just today. Pmlinediter  Talk 10:00, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And are you calling yourself a new user? You have been around for over 2 years, more than many sysops. Pmlinediter  Talk 10:02, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't stop nominating hooks! It really doesn't matter how many we have waiting, ideally we would update every three days ;). If we can reach that goal, brilliant! Anyway, I shall stop stalking talk pages now ;). Goblin 10:05, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Righto. Cheers, Pmlinediter  Talk 10:06, 22 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]

I was trying to give a lengthy reply, Pmlinediter, but I keep getting into "edit conflicts" so I'll just say: take it easy. Mighty Wodan (talk) 10:10, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've reviewed the article. I'll try and help do some of it too. Good luck! Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 20:28, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments. I hadn't noticed these things; I am no native speaker of English so I sometimes find it difficult to find the right words. If you have the time, I would appreciate it if you would help me out here. It is quite a list you came up with in such a short ammount of time, but I am sure it is nothing that can't be fixed easily. Mighty Wodan (talk) 20:30, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't feel like doing them (all of them) I'll do them, no problem! Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 20:34, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great! I could do some of them, but not all. Like "via" (that is used very much in my language but not so much in English). My native language is Olde Frisian so that might explain. Mighty Wodan (talk) 20:35, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Via is used in the english language, but not all people (from other countries) will understand it. I'd also like to say, you speak very good english! Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 20:37, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well thanks. The Frisian language is closely related to English. Next to Gaelish, Frisian is the language closest to English then any other languages. The uncle of Jelckama (my GA nominee) came up with a well known shibboleth that illustrates this. :D Mighty Wodan (talk) 20:40, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It still is a foreign language though, so I have some problems with English. Especially with grammar. That is why I was more or less suprised myself with the quality of the article on Jelckama. It still needs some work though, and I am not sure if I can do that. While your at it, I'm going to take a look at some of my other articles. Mighty Wodan (talk) 20:44, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the issues. I just need to make the sentences shorter now. Kind regards, Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 21:07, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I just took care of all the red links in the article, btw. Thanks for your work on it. Mighty Wodan (talk) 07:15, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar Congratulations: You have been given a Barnstar!

I think you deserve it, the article looks great! Yotcmdr =talk to the commander= 21:12, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not particularly good form to remind people on their talk pages to vote. Many people have PGA watchlisted, and you will get votes. :-) Happy editing! Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 12:37, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reminder. Mighty Wodan (talk) 12:40, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You do realize that it perfectly met the QD criteria. Articles copied straight from EN are liable to be deleted. Meetare Shappy Cunkelfratz! 14:15, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the history of the article here. You can clearly see at has not been copied. It has been made bit by bit. Just look at it! Mighty Wodan (talk) 14:16, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[change source]

Please stop edit warring over tags using rollback - that's not its intended use. -- Mentifisto 12:08, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I had all the right reasons to do so. Mighty Wodan (talk) 12:09, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, rollback is for reverting vandalistic edits only and expressly not for edit wars. -- Mentifisto 12:11, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I'll just user "revert then" and leave rollback for classic vandalism. Mighty Wodan (talk) 12:12, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Three Revert Rule[change source]

Please be careful when undoing edits. When you reverted the addition of a QD tag, three times, it was in violation of our Three Revert Rule. Please take time to read this and other policies - further breaches may result in your account being blocked for a period of time. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Goblin 18:13, 13 June 2009 (UTC) I ♥ Kennedy![reply]

Thanks for explaining. Mighty Wodan (talk) 20:31, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback removed[change source]

I have removed your access to rollback. You have used it incorrectly a few times now and have used it during an edit war. You may request it back in one week either to myself or on WP:RFRB. You are free to appeal this removal on WP:AN prior to that if you feel it was removed in error or if you have reasons that mitigate its removal. fr33kman talk 20:40, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback has been reinstated on your account, please reread WP:ROLLBACK prior to usage. All the best! fr33kman talk 17:53, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be happy to help with anything you need. I don't have a lot of time right now, but I'll do what I can. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:44, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind offer. I know you are good at these things (you're native speaker of English, right?) and I don't have the skills to fully rewrite an article for GA. Mighty Wodan (talk) 18:26, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jelckama again[change source]

The page is still a copy from the current enwp version and this one. It falls under A3; however, if you wish I can userfy it. Please don't create the article unless it has been significantly changed. Pmlineditor  09:28, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, it is you again. The article is not a direct copy, by the way. Perhaps you could help me simplify it? Another user also offered to help (in fact, two users did) so please be a little bit patient this time, ok? :) Mighty Wodan (talk) 13:51, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am patient... else I'd have deleted it... yes I can help if you wish. Pmlineditor  16:03, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your help would be much appreciated. Do you think that the article would stand a chance of becoming a GA after all? After you have helped me simplify the article, I am planning on expanding it further and further, to the point that this article will become bigger then it's English Wikipedia counterpart. And then, before the end of this month, I would like to nominate it for GA and see what happens. Last time the article nearly got promoted to GA, but you stopped that. This time I feel it will work out better. Will you help me? Mighty Wodan (talk) 18:26, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
