October 2017[change source]

Hello, Knowyourtutoroffical. We welcome your changes to Wikipedia, but if you are closely associated with some of the people, places or things that you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to read our advice on conflicts of interest.

All users need to follow Wikipedia's neutral point of view rules for content. People with a close connection to a subject often have a strong opinion about it. This may cause them to change the article in ways that make it either too flattering or too critical. They will most often not be aware they are doing it. Everybody is allowed to write about whatever subjects they want to, but they need to be very careful about making sure their changes are supported by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject you are writing about, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid changing or creating pages related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with. If you do decide to write about these things, be very careful with how you do it.
  • Be careful about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to give information about independent sources in deletion discussions. However, try not to give an opinion about whether an article should be deleted.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Be very careful so that you do not accidentally break Wikipedia's rules.

Please make yourself familiar with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines on content — especially those about neutral point of view, giving sources, and autobiographies. Thank you. DaneGeld (talk) 08:01, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm DaneGeld (talk). I've just noticed that your username is against policy because it is being used to advertise a company.
This is not anything against you, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our guidelines - we hope to see you editing again soon!

Our username policy says how you should choose your username. Put simply, you should not have a username that people find offensive, advertises a real world group or company, or is confusing (for instance, if it impersonates another user).

If you have already made changes and wish to keep your changes under a new name you may ask for us to rename your account. If you want to, please go here and ask for a new name. It will be changed by someone once they receive the request.

If you think that Knowyourtutoroffical fits inside the guidelines, feel free to tell me why on this page, and I'm sure we can come to some conclusion.

However, please be aware that the username you currently have, Knowyourtutoroffical may be blocked from editing without warning — if your name is listed here, you may want to tell people why you should not be blocked on that page.

Thanks again,
