Templates[change source]

Hey can you stop moving the templates and such. Not all follow en wiki because of our setup. I can handle them and the way I have set them up corresponds with our setup. Thanks. Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:23, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Then I would like you to make templates that will not need moves. "Nw" or "Tpw" could be a shortcut/redirect but not a name that allows editors to understand easily. In addition, abbreviation of Hewlett Packard is always capitalized. MathXplore (talk) 03:27, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok fine you are obviously smarter than everyone else do what you want and if it comes back on me I’m making sure to point you out for being the one doing it. Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:36, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please... well if it's not too much trouble...[change source]

Hello MathXplore... I would like you to link... the Helluva Boss page to Wikidata, since I am new, only 6 months in Wikipedia, because little by little I am learning how to create articles among other things, and in Wikidata I can hardly link them and it's just because of that, for my part I've tried to link it several times and it doesn't work, even though I read the tutorial, that's why since you're already an expert in these things, that's why I'd like you to link to the Helluva Boss page... the same If it's not too much trouble, this would be all for today AngelDust1941 (talk) 03:51, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @AngelDust1941 Done. You can do this from the "Languages" bar at the left side of the screen. There's an option to "Add Links". You can type in the name of the wiki and the page to link to from there. In this case, you should input "enwiki" in the language field, and "Helluva Boss" in the page field. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 03:56, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks *Fehufangą, I put it wrong all the time, I always put the link of the created article, so thanks again for telling me more in a simplified way AngelDust1941 (talk) 04:02, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

QDs for templates[change source]

I declined the QDs you put on some templates. The QD/T2 option says "They are deprecated or replaced by a newer template and are completely unused and not linked to." To be deprecated, a template has to have been in use at some time, but these haven't been because they were just created. Because of that, the T2 option can't be used. I know it's annoying -- I've been caught by that technicality myself in the past! Please do an RFD for these. Thanks. -- Auntof6 (talk) 06:03, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing is annoying, thank you for the notice. By the way, do we have rules about how many weeks/months should I wait for QD T2 ? I know they are brand new templates, but they won't be new forever. MathXplore (talk) 06:10, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
True, they won't be brand new forever, but if they never get used they still won't qualify for T2. To deprecate something means to take something that has been in use (not just in existence, but in use) and declare that it is no longer needed or useful. The Wiktionary definition says "To declare something obsolescent; to recommend against a function, technique, command, etc. that still works but has been replaced." So these don't fit the definition of "deprecated" because they haven't been in use, and they also haven't been replaced by something else; that's why T2 doesn't apply here.
By the way, it should be OK to combine the different diaspora templates if you plan to do RFDs on them. -- Auntof6 (talk) 06:16, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 I actually just recommended we add all of these to the articles as well because the articles are hoax’s as well. The closest I found was a Ren ‘n Stimpy but producers and cast don’t add up. Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 06:28, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb: Add all these templates to articles? Some of the templates we're talking about (the diaspora ones) are all redlinked, so there are no articles to add them to. And why would you add templates to articles that are hoaxes to begin with? If they're hoaxes, they should be deleted. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:00, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 I thought I said add all the templates and articles created into one RfD. Save space & time. Thanks - Da LambTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 07:16, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb: Usually you do that only if the things are related. The diaspora ones aren't related to the other one. Also, it's not good to add things to an existing RFD because some people may already have given their opinion and others may have looked at the RFD as it was and decided not to give an opinion. Even if you notify everyone who has commented, you could still miss people who looked at it and didn't comment. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:28, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6: I appreciate the explanation. According to User:MathXplore/QD log/202207, I nominated unused new templates for QD T2, and they were deleted by User:Eptalon and User:Macdonald-ross. I think this is where my misinterpretation has started. Should I report those deleted templates for deletion review ? MathXplore (talk) 06:34, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would say don't report them for review, but maybe we need to fix the language so that the T2 text you see on the QD notice matches what the policy says. The policy says "deprecated or replaced by a newer template", but the other text says "deprecated or unused". -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:07, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I just changed the text on Template:QD to match the policy. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:44, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Any reason for wanting to eliminate this article in development and from a current political event?. Vumury (talk) 05:32, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to complain about the QD, tell that to those who support the deletion at the article's talk page, NOT here. Whatever the subject is, NEVER copypaste articles from anywhere else. MathXplore (talk) 05:44, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a copyright, first of all i created then he copy from Wikipedia, you can check again it all of these Goru123456
Whoever the author is, copy-pasted articles cannot remain in our project. MathXplore (talk) 03:08, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Some confusion is being created, I am not able to understand where have you got this same article, did you talk about this article, so it is not related to my article. If this is not then send me link as soon as possible, https://en.everybodywiki.com/Sourav_Jain Goru123456 (talk) 03:13, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Since both articles are talking about the same person, it does have relation. MathXplore (talk) 03:33, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alright but not giving full information, many news paper many another site given fake news and Controversy but Wikipedia always share real and notable article, on given my article it's all verify Goru123456 (talk) 03:38, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In this case, the problem is not reliability but copyright violation. MathXplore (talk) 03:40, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! So you can do re-edit this page or I will do it, but don't delete it, I have created 5 article on Wikipedia till now Goru123456 (talk) 03:43, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

important note[change source]

Hello dear .. I hope the references are appreciated and read, the character is the most famous personality on YouTube in the Levant region! If a simple Wikipedia article is not worth it, when is an article worth it? He is observant of policies! It does not contradict and there are references. Deleting the article is incorrect, and it is a somewhat biased approach. Osps7 (talk) 11:07, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Shadi Ashi. MathXplore (talk) 11:10, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What is the discussion based on? On what is the deletion based? Why was one opinion heard, despite the addition of new and strong references? Why did the administrator not see the sources? This was unjustly deleted. The character is notable compared to the characters on Wikipedia. Osps7 (talk) 11:13, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To get the answer of your question, please use Wikipedia:Deletion review to get attention from admins. RFD nomination can be submitted from anyone, but only admins can handle the final decision. Asking them is the fastest way to get an answer. MathXplore (talk) 11:16, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of Turkic Bactrian-lily[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of Turkic Bactrian-lily, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Turkic Bactrian-lily and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. MathXplore (talk) 12:17, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Underpopulated categories[change source]

Hi. When you tag a new category as underpopulated, like you did with Category:Crime in Bangladesh, would you please leave a message on the creator's page about it? If you use Twinkle, there's an option for this under warnings: it's under single issue notices, and it's called "Category created does not contain enough pages". Thanks! -- Auntof6 (talk) 00:09, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to do that, thank you for the reminder. MathXplore (talk) 00:26, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The IP beat me to it (and shouldn't have removed the QD request from a page they made), but I was going to decline the QD anyway. "Sherk" would be a pretty common typo for "Shrek". -- Auntof6 (talk) 02:28, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've edited the article correctly now. So I've removed the G12 tag. I don't know whether it is correct removing or not. But kindly check. I re-written the Article. Thanks! Beaulahrejoice (talk) 04:17, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

When I tried to connect the en wiki & simple wiki templates through wikidata, I saw error. I wondered. And later, I came to know that it's already connected by you. :-) :-) You are very fast in doing so. Thank you and you are appreciated for doing that! --Haoreima (talk) 05:24, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Recently tagged redirects[change source]

Please create a new RFD for them. The previous discussion at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2022/Hindustani Mother of the Nation does not grant wide discretion to delete redirects of this form, not to mention that there was one redirect listed there that was eventually kept. Chenzw  Talk  07:17, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects for disambiguation pages[change source]

Hi, MathXplore. When you create a pair of pages like Sari and Sari (disambiguation), the page with the qualifier (with "(disambiguation)") in the name should be the redirect. That is so that if someone wants to link to the dab page on purpose, they link to the qualified one which can't be mistaken for any particular meaning. I'm going to change the ones I just saw for Sari and for Powhatan. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:57, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

multiple pages on requests for deletion[change source]

Hey MathXplore. While not required, I recommend putting lc templates for every page you put on an RfD, like this. It makes it easier for admins to close the RfD. Thanks for your help! :) --Ferien (talk) 14:19, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done The page has been deleted. MathXplore (talk) 11:06, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey MathXplore. I accidentally deleted the page at first but with R2, we can only delete a couple of days after the move was done, in case the editor just forgot to request deletion or was planning to work on that userpage again. If this was because of a page move, please wait a day or two before deleting the redirect. (from R2 in the deletion policy) Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 22:01, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've declined the A7 tag on this article, as I think releasing a track on social media and claiming it "went viral" is a possible claim of significance. Obviously it needs a verifiable claim of what that means to survive an AfD, or possibly a G11 tag, but Nigerian rap music is not really my area of expertise Dynast360 (talk) 02:05, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Just a note on this QD. I didn't delete the page for G4 as the old RfD was for another subject who just happens to have the same name. Not related at all though. I did delete for A4, as there wasn't even a claim to notability. Thanks. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 02:24, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting rights-related question[change source]

Hi @MathXplore, I have a question regarding the deletion case. Normally we know that admins delete a page due to QD, RfD, etc. But I noticed that non-admin users also deletes pages (redirect pages). So can you tell me which cases an non-admin user can delete a page? If you think this is a weird question, then feel free to say. I won't mind. Best DRC (User:TTP1233) (talk . e-mail . contrib) 08:34, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gagauz people[change source]

Hello, I created the page about the Gagauz people from Moldova with sources, because about the Gagauz language is already a page in simple English: Gagauz_language. So I thougt it should also be an own page for the Gaguaz People who speak this language. Yet, the User Macdonald-ross deleted the page. This is really not funny. Here you can see in the English wikipedia a page about the Gagauz people: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gagauz_people. So why it is forbidden to create a page in simple English about the Gagauz people? I created it again see: Gagauz_people Nalanidil (talk) 22:50, 24 August 2022 (UTC) (Fixed links and typo, MathXplore (talk) 02:16, 25 August 2022 (UTC))[reply]

You have done the recreation, that means the creation is NOT forbidden. Really forbidden articles will be protected. MathXplore (talk) 02:16, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And if you know who deleted the article, you have to ask them directly, or ask at WP:DRV. In this case, asking to somebody else just takes extra time. Please remember that articles that fall to WP:QD A1-A3, G1-G2 will be quickly deleted whatever the subject is. I think your article won't get QD A4 or A6. This is a just a general reminder so experienced editors just like you may not have to read this message. MathXplore (talk) 02:16, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MathXplore, I have added three features - copyvio-check, unsigned helper, unreliable source check in my User:TTP1233/common.js. And Take your time while answering the question. Best --DRC (User:TTP1233) (talk . e-mail . contrib) 04:10, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I wasn't using the copyvio-check and unsigned helper. In my opinion, using a search engine is enough to detect copyvio. The unreliable source check works at any pages. They will highlight links to unreliable sources (social media, IMDB, fandom etc.) with red. MathXplore (talk) 05:03, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
