May 2013[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently made a new article or made changes to one by adding things copied from a book, magazine, newspaper or another website without the permission of the copyright holder. Many sources, including websites found on the Internet, are copyrighted. I'm afraid Wikipedia cannot accept any things copied from these sources as it can get Wikipedia into serious legal trouble. The article or changes have been or will soon be deleted. Next time, look up sources to find out information for articles and explain it in your own words, and don't copy sentences or images from them. Thank you. We like and strongly encourage helpful changes to Wikipedia, but "Cheranmadevi" was directly copied and pasted from the main English Wikipedia. Please do not do that. Such articles are usually too complex and may have templates that do not exist here. Thank you. Osiris (talk) 11:29, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GentalMan, and thank you for the reply. You need to simplify the articles you have copied over so far. Not only Cheranmadevi, but also the content in Nanguneri, K. Kamaraj and Panchayat town are too complex for this wiki and need to be translated. We don't need copies of the English Wikipedia articles, our readers can just go to the English Wikipedia for those. If you need any help, please feel free to ask me on my talk page. Wikipedia:How to copy from another Wikipedia contains a step-by-step guide on translating content from other Wikipedias. SCAD College of Engineering and Technology looks fine. Osiris (talk) 12:29, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It will likely take a day or so for Google to pick it up. Even then, though, pages on Simple English Wikipedia are not a high priority for Google searches, so will not show up on the first page like pages on the English Wikipedia. Osiris (talk) 04:34, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The page was protected from being created. Nick, the administrator over there that protected the page, will need to see the copy of the article you intend to create (in order to make sure that there are no more copyright concerns). Give Nick the link to the article you created here (simple:SCAD College of Engineering and Technology). Osiris (talk) 05:04, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Periyar E. V. Ramasamy[change source]

Hi. This article was good. I gave it a quick copyedit earlier [1] and moved the important stuff to the top (the facts about the organisations he started, etcetera). But overall it was pretty good. Osiris (talk) 07:19, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nellaiappar Temple[change source]

Not disturbing at all, I am happy to help. The article is good. And no, since you actually lived and worked in the temple, then I will not doubt any of the information! ;) Osiris (talk) 12:26, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Murugan[change source]

Ah, Lord Murugan. I visited the big statue of him at Batu Caves in Malaysia during Divali a few years ago. The article is good. Once again, I have given it a quick copyedit. I'm glad you like it here, and looking forward to seeing more articles from you :) Osiris (talk) 06:53, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of SCAD College of Engineering and Technology[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of SCAD College of Engineering and Technology, an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2013/SCAD College of Engineering and Technology and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Osiris (talk) 20:53, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
