It appears a system operator determined some portion of the article you created was not a copyright violation and restored the article. The trouble is a significant portion of the article was a copied from something that existed elsewhere. If you've written the same words elsewhere, the difficulty is determining if you are, in fact, the author and if proper license can be released to reuse the content here on Wikipedia. The easiest route to correct this issue is paraphrasing content that may exist elsewhere. Additionally, Wikipedia specifically discourages all editors from creating or editing articles about themselves, their family, or their employers as this presents a conflict of interest concern for the content. @5.158.88.111: believing you is not the issue. Wikipedia is a community project. If one person doesn't believe an article should be included, they are welcome to tag it for quick deletion or nominate the article for deletion. This request is reviewed by a system administrator and they decide if the article should be deleted or kept. In this case, the admin decided to keep the article. I reverted your edit when you removed the quick delete tag because this is specifically against Wikipedia policy, not because I did or didn't believe the article should be kept or deleted. I've since added references to the article because the article needs references. I noticed you could not determine how to add the required references the message telling others to add references to the talk page. However, this is incorrect. References are able to added to articles just like the other Wikipedia projects. Before you make further edits, I'd strongly encourage you to review this page and become familiar with this project and what the content should include as well as how to add proper references by reading this page.

Additionally, you should keep in mind this is not my Wikipedia, nor is it yours. This project belongs to the community and the community at large will decide what is kept and what is not. Operator873^talkconnect 20:53, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Gladiatorial Question

@GladiatorGal3: Good morning! Your answer depends on what edit interface you work with. I glanced over your contributions and really wasn't able to determine if you use the visual editor or the source editor. I use and am most familiar with the source editor, so I'll explain that one first. To add a new inline reference to the text, you'll need to add the <ref> </ref> tags in the appropriate place in the text. This is the absolute minimum requirement, but it is better to then use one of these {{Citation}}, {{cite web}}, {{cite news}}, etc templates inside the ref tags. Don't panic. This sounds a lot more complicated than it is, but I promise it's not. At the bottom of the article, under the == References == heading, add the template {{reflist}} and it will generate your references from the inline citations.

The best way to get a handle on how to do inline citations is to look at ones that already exist. Cruise through, find an article that has some references, and look at how they are built. The official guide for creating references is at WP:CITE. Since I'm not very familiar with the visual editor, I'll let that page guide you through adding references from the visual interface.

One more thing, while I was looking at your contributions, I've noticed you've created several new articles and added a lot to some existing articles. Thank you! However, these new articles may get deleted and your edits may be reverted because they introduce complex English to the articles. This is not English Wikipedia. We are the Simple English Wikipedia which means our articles should not contain words that may be difficult to understand by perhaps a non-native speaker, for example. Check out WP:SIMPLE for more info on this. We try to keep the content of our articles limited to a specific wordlist. If you aren't sure if you can use a word in an article, check out this list and see if it's on there. You can, in some instances, create a wikilink for the word if there is an article that explains thermodynamics for example.

We are a lot different versues the English Wikipedia. I strongly suggest you read this user essay written by one of our admins, Auntof6. alma_mater parameter

Hi. It has come to my attention that "alma_mater" is not actually deprecated. I believe the person who created Category:Infobox person using alma mater thought it was, just because there's a category tracking it, and so they put that category in the deprecated parameter category. So please stop eliminating it. Further, I hate to ask, but what would it take to undo the changes you already made? If you'd like help with that, I'd be glad to help if you can identify the pages that were changed. Sorry to be the bearer if bad tidings.

Going forward, the way to tell if a parameter is really deprecated is that you'll see a message saying so if you preview an article that uses it. Let me know if you'd like more info on that. --Auntof6 (talk) 09:03, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Exactly, the biggest way to prevent silly creations is to have something there in the first place. I didn't think to mention it in this case, but you will often see me making small stubs instead of just outright deleting vandalism because having something then tends to prevent the recreations. @Iamskylord: Followers and subscriptions do not determine notability. Significant, in-depth coverage by independent sources subject to editorial review (see WP:GNG and WP:RS). Additionally, yes, you have several references here, but none of them are in-depth coverage about the person. They are passing mentions that don't describe or talk much about Rathee.
