Category:Neuroscience[change source]

Hi, Randykitty, and welcome to Simple English Wikipedia. I'm leaving you this message to let you know that I rearranged categories for some of the articles you recently put into this category. This is because the articles were in redundant categories. For example, the article Brain was already in Category:Brain, which is under Category:Nervous system, which is under Category:Neuroscience. If an article is under Category:Brain or Category:Nervous system, it doesn't need to be in Category:Neuroscience as well. Feel free to reply here if you'd like more information. --Auntof6 (talk) 08:57, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi Randykitty. Thanks for the welcome message. Have a happy new year. LittleWink (talk) 12:46, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

I just created a page for an artist[change source]

Hello, I just created the page for an artist please can you remove that deletion marked. Link of the page: — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs)

  • Just as at the English wiki, this article does not indicate why this person is important. Just being an artist is not a good claim for importance. --Randykitty (talk) 16:43, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

Thank you![change source]

Dear Randykitty! Thank you very much for the "welcome"! Face-smile.svg Greetings, Mateo Katana 22:11, 29 April 2017 (CEST)

Welcoming users[change source]

Hi, Randykitty. Maybe no one has mentioned this to you, but we prefer to welcome users only after we see that they're making good contributions here. At least one of the users you welcomed recently has made no edits, and the only edit from another was creating an inappropriate page. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:04, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

  • No, no one mentioned this. I'll stop doing this. Many of the "welcome" templates that I recently placed were to accounts without any edit and quite a few to some that had made doubtful edits. My experience at enWP has been that welcoming users, even if they have made an unhelpful edit, often has a beneficial effect and in many cases, they subsequently turn out to be constructive editors. To me, spending a few seconds to add a welcome template to new user's talk page falls under "it does no harm but may do good". But if the custom here is different, I'll adapt. --Randykitty (talk) 18:12, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
    • I came here to say the same thing. At User talk:Jake Roberts2, you left a welcome template that says "Thank you for your changes" before they made any changes. A few hours later, edits were all vandalism. Only (talk) 00:57, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Then what is needed is perhaps a welcome template for users who have not made any changes yet... --Randykitty (talk) 08:12, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Help request[change source]

Hello there. I need an English admin's help, I'll try to ask you. I'm an Italian registered user, Janik98, and there's an Italian troll who's harrassing me. In Italian Wikipedia he's already been blocked and the situation is under control, but he's stalking me in other language editions and that's why I'm writing here without logging in. In English Wikipedia he registered with a name similar to mine and wrote me this: [1]. It's a message where he says bad things to me and tries to scare me. An Italian admin had rollbacked his edit, but the message is still visible in the edit history. Would you be so kind to change the visibility of his edit so that it's hidden? I'll ask somebody else if you can't or don't want to, but I hope you will. Thanks!-- (talk) 16:48, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

  • You're in the wrong place, I am not an admin on SimpleWP. --Randykitty (talk) 16:52, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Indeed. I wasn't talking about Simple Wikipedia, but about English Wikipedia. The link I've typed leads to my talk page in that edition.-- (talk) 17:55, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Then why on Earth are you contacting me on SimpleWP??? Contact me on enWP if you need admin help there, here I'm not an admin. --Randykitty (talk) 18:15, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
  • To avoid that the troll notices a deletion request in the English talk page of the English admin who deleted his message. But you're right, I've definitely asked the wrong admin. Goodbye.-- (talk) 07:07, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
  • In case you want to keep something confidential, you email an admin or oversight. All admins are supposed to have email enabled. Contacting them on another wiki is simply weird.
  • I didn't think about using that way. Thanks for telling me, thank you very much for helping me with my request and sorry for disturbing you.-- (talk) 07:40, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Note:The above IP is blocked for vandalism and leaving bad messages on other user talk page. I rollback the changes first but I realized you had replied. Will leave it to your discretion whether to DENY the above. Sorry. --Cohaf (talk) 13:49, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Actually, Cohaf, their concerns about the edit on enWP were not unfounded, it was just weird that they came here to contact me about it (and just now also on the Italian WP...) I have blocked the editor they complained about on enWP for leaving that threatening message and impersonating another editor and revdelled the offending message. --Randykitty (talk) 14:22, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Noted. Sorry to disturb you. I'm just thinking based on a change of behaviour, I felt this IP might just have a change of owner. Anyway, yes sorry for the disturbance. --Cohaf (talk) 14:27, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
  • No need to apologize. I just had a look at the IPs contributions here and they are indeed worrisome... --Randykitty (talk) 14:39, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

Hello Randykitty. I've noticed just now what happened in your talk page and I'd like to give you an explaination. I wasn't the same person who vandalised this discussion a few hours after my last edit, this happened because I made a mistake: in order not to be noticed by the troll, I didn't use my usual IP address, the one I'm using now and you can check, but a proxy server. Unluckily the same proxy was found and used short after by a noted long-term abuser, Wikinger, who enjoys himself creating confusion without any real aim but raging users. He saw his IP address was used here, so he pretended to be me and accused a global admin in place of the troll I told you about. I'm very, very sorry for being the cause of such a problem, I shouldn't have used a proxy server, if I hadn't this wouldn't have happened. I apologise. I hope Wikinger won't continue disturbing you because of me. Thank you again for helping me.-- (talk) 19:19, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
