Hello, Shultz~simplewiki, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! Freshstart 07:05, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After you left the comment on Wikipedia:Simple talk, I spent a lot of time looking at your experiences on EN, especially under your former username there, and have a few comments. First, since your Talk page comments often seem to cause negative responses, when you feel the urge to comment on a Talk page, you might want to wait a day and see if it still seems like a constructive comment to make; or maybe even ask someone who fully understands the circumstances, for a 'second opinion' on whether the comment you are considering making would be well received. Second, we could use a nice, simple English, stub on Asperger syndrome (I am more familiar with autism, based on my reading Donna Williams' first two autobiographical books). Finally (regarding your comment on Talk:Hell), as I, and others, responded on Simple Talk, while Simple English articles should be understandable by children, children are NOT our only audience. Many people around the world have limited knowledge of the English language, for many different reasons--we should not make Simple seem childish since many adults can benefit by using it. Oh, and for whatever it is worth, I use "simp." (short for "simplification") to indicate when my edits are about trying to use simpler English. Freshstart 07:15, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
