Welcome[change source]

Hello! I noticed that you may have come here from another Wikipedia, so you know a little about how things work here. I hope you like it here and decide to stay! Here are some links to help you adjust:

There's a lot to do here. Most of it is writing articles that do not exist yet, which you can do by translating from other Wikipedias, but have a look around and see what you want to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need any help. – Aranya (talk) 21:32, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[change source]

I noticed you had reverted an act of vandalism performed by our IP very recently, and on behalf of us all, we'd like to thank you. Although we have been encouraging our students more productive use of the site, we have noticed a few instances of this still occurring, and are glad to see that people are keeping a watchful eye out for this. Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you again for all your hard work. --206.180.116.2 (talk) 17:41, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the message! That's not a problem, that's what I'm here for :) If you notice that some students are making destructive changes from your IP address, you can click on the (undo) link next to the change to undo it. Sk4mp (talk) 17:46, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

February 2022[change source]

Hello, Skmp. When you revert a user's changes, like you did earlier, don't forget to leave the user a message on their talk page, especially when reverting vandalism or a test edit. You may find Template:User talk page warnings/table useful when doing this, to let them know that the change was considered inappropriate, and to direct them to the sandbox. Thank you. • Greetings! Yeah, I'm a bit lazy when it comes to leaving users a warning on their talk page. I probably should do it more frequently when the edit is obviously a test one. However, I'm not actually a fan of leaving users a warning when they are clearly vandalizing. I feel like this gives them attention, that they probably want, and motivates them to continue vandalizing. It's like you actually acknowledge that their edits are destructive and let them know that what they are doing is effective and is not appreciated, which is, again, what they (probably) want to get from vandalizing. I'm more of a "revert once -> revert the second time -> report to sysops" kind of guy. Of course, I don't have any evidence that leaving vandals a warning actually provokes them to continue, only anecdotal, so treat what I say with a pinch of salt :). Anyway, thanks for reminding me, I appreciate it. Skmp (talk) 02:07, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
