Hello! I'm assuming you've popped over from the English Wikipedia, so you're probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay on! Here's a few links to help you adjust:

There's plenty to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that don't exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Hey there, ThomasK~simplewiki! Here are a few good ideas that you can use to help in the making of articles that you might do in the future:

If the article that you created is under 1,000 bytes, please add the {{stub}} template into the article near the end (below the "Other websites" section, but above the interwikis (see below)). This will let other editors know that it is a short article that needs to be made longer.
If you have no idea what categories an article that you create should go under, please add the {{uncat}} template to the article. This will let other editors know that you need help categorizing the article appropriately.
Please remember to include interwikis at the bottom of an article. This will enable users to go between the many different Wikipedias that are in existence to check information and possibly add new information to the article here. It's mostly for convenience.

I think that the phrase "African American" should stay, because it is much more commonly used to refer to him, and because him being the first African American president in itself is far more significant to where, specifically, his ancestry would be from.
